There are six advertised heat levels-so, needless to say, Hot Ones host Sean Evans had to go try the off-menu level seven, which is packed with Carolina Reaper. I myself only learned about them when I got more interested in trying the hotter stuff and started growing chillies myself and experimenting with them. typically, nashville hot chicken is served with a slice of white bread and pickles. the white bread is almost like a canvas for how hot your chicken is going to be. i've had the bread be nearly white(mild/medium) all the way to deep, blood red (extra hot, xxhot). when the bread's red, you know your booty's dead

not sure if you've ever done these spicy Challenges before or not. But I've had the Howling+, and I can tell you, the thinking is this - the spice and oil is on my tongue, if I can get any of it off my body and into the napkin/paper, it'll help. Trust me, it's hard to 1) think straight, and 2) whether it works or not, you WILL do anything to try to alleviate the pain, even if just for a tiny bit.

He’s a really nice guy, or at least he is to his customers. I’ve been to Howlin’ Rays three times, each visit a month or so apart, to pick up orders for me and a buddy who loves spicy food more than I do (he does Howlin’, I chicken out at Xtra Hot), and he remembered me and gave us a few extra wings in our order for visits two and three. I’d go more often by myself, but it’s hard to find time to drive out to Chinatown and then wait an hour just to order. Well worth doing though; the food is amazing.

I love how well composed and tough everyone is before they eat some super hot shit. A lot of joking and relaxed fun. After that reaper hits though, full survival instinct kicks in. Form and fashion goes out the window. Pouring milk over your head, eating napkins, just anything to make the pain stop. Anything goes and it doesn’t look good.
