`Never Mind the Buzzcocks' is a music comedy quiz show with a comedic twist that tests contestants' knowledge of music. The contestants are split into two teams, with the teams often featuring a music or entertainment celebrity among the contestants.

NMTB was so good in those days. Lamarr was always funny, Hughes was entertaining, Athelston was a gem and Jupitus was fun too. It's sad we don't get Lamarr on tv anymore.

Mark Lamarr hands down one of the funniest blokes to grace our screens. Hope he’s all good.

Man Frank skinner looks so young I thought for a second he was James Acaster and then thought how the heck would he be in it! Love these old lineups, Mark was the best at delivering them just right

Frank Skinner was born in 1957, so was already 40-odd here. He is one of those strangely ageless people though.

He does look weirdly like James Acaster. I wonder if James' mum was at any Frank Skinner gigs back in the 80s 🤔

It was nice seeing these old clips again, I hadn't thought about this in years. But imagine my disappointment when I find out that Athelston Williams was also no longer with us?? Gutted is an understatement.

This was my favourite part of the show, Athelston always made it fun. I wonder what he was thinking about when he stared off into the distance :-)

Phill: The bloke from John Smiths Bitter moves more than [Athelston], for God’s sake! Leeroy: So does John Lennon. One of the darkest lines from early Buzzcocks.

I remember when some of the contestants were pretending to be the Rolling Stones, saying 'I'll be Keith', 'I'll be Mick' etc. Phill said 'can I be Brian?' and slumped forward over the desk and lay there completely motionless.
