Crazy how he's retiring the same week as Dan Leavy who took his position. Makes Seán even more of a legend seeing how long he lasted in the most abrasive position which ends world class careers prematurely.

Leavy's injury was horrific though ,POC had a similar one ,where you could see him hamstring peel off.

One of the best back row forwards of the last 20 years. Would do a job for his team at 6 7 or 8 and any team in world rugby would find a place for him. Respect from Wales

Awesome player. The power of the clear out against France! One of my favourite players growing up and loved legitimately supporting him as an English man when he was smashing it for the Lions. Also really impressed with his performances at Irish at this point in his career. Hell of a shift.

The fella is just a quality product... dont blame him for calling it a day as he simply shone in big game situations and they weren't coming his way... he's left some great memories though as well as some crap ones from England supporters like me....

Sean O'brien and Sam warburton were definitely my fav flankers of all time. As a wing, I loved their jackling and how quick they were to every breakdown/ruck. Gonna miss this huge lad

It's difficult for forwards to have good montages because they do all the unseen dirty work while backs get to show off their skill. This was very well made though

The man completely redefined the number 7 position. He was untouchable in his prime. The lad was obviously on steroids at one point in his career because he was absolutely enormous. But what set him apart was his ability to step around the tackler. He could use his athleticism to side step past guys but also bosh his way through some of the biggest defences. On top of that he was an unbelievable offloader too. He was the reason I got into rugby as a youngster. You just knew when he was playing that you would win. The Irish backrow at the time was untouched 6.Stephen Ferris 7.Sean O’Brien 8.Jamie Heaslip.

@@Sam-uk4mb I reckon it's pretty prevalent in today's game alas. Even fly and scrum half's are expected to be beasts. And have you seen the state of Zebo recently- definitely on something. Unfortunately it seems the current global mindset is that the SA way is the way to go - bash em smash em stuff - and that is just going to lead to players pushing everything to the absolute precipice of legality and self harm. I don't know if it can ever be policed correctly.
