Its taken me a few days to even get my head around our loss of Sean. I think met when we were 17yrs old and have been great friends ever since. Such an amazing friend, such an amazing soul, and one of the most talented persons I have ever met. We have shared so many incredible experiences together over the years and a bit of it was caught on video. Here is a little glimpse into some of the time we shared together in the past and recently. I will so miss you brother, words cannot express. Love and Light

It's not easy to watch this entire video, too emotionally intense. It's difficult to understand the sadness can be felt for someone that I never met, I think that answer is found in music and what it generates. Sean will forever be in our hearts thank you for all the memories.

One of the most important influence of modern drumming Blended Tony Williams fusion style with Hoglan/Lombardo esque heaviness. Prototype of 95% of modern 'prog' drummers today. Immense drumming and musical mind. Still an emotional watch even after all this time

Thank you Jason. Sean had an unbelievably unique voice on the instrument. I was not prepared for this. He was my favourite drummer since 93 when Focus was released. Someone I had always hoped to meet along with you and the rest of Cynic. All I can say is thank you again Jason.

I remembered the first time I heard Death's Human album... I was floored, it instantly became one of my favorite (not just death metal, but in general) albums of all-time, in great part due to his drumming. I remember I had to buy the tape several times because they would start sound muddy after a while from playing them so much. I will always appreciate his talent, may he rest in peace.

Please accept my condolences for your loss... it’s incredible and inspiring how a man who I’ve never met had such an impact on me - and many musician friends of mine - the loss is widespread... As a developing drummer in high school, and a huge fan of metal and jazz, FOCUS and HUMAN were jaw dropping because it proved that extreme music could actually SWING! It was now safe to play anything and everything! I chuckle when I read back and Sean laments “yeah I’m that Human guy”... well it has, and still does, blow us all away... I could go on forever about his incredible influence but I’ll just close with a big Thank You 🙏🏼 to the extended Cynic musical family tree for years of listening enjoyment. Much love for the huge impact you’ve all had on me.

Sorry for ur loss bro, my name is Tommy from Dominican Republic and let me tell you that Ive been a metalhead since 1985 and started singing metal in 93. I had 4 different bands in a period of almost 20 years locally. One of those bands was called Science Fusion with Ruben Acevedo on the drums, who lives in FL now and is business partner with Tony Choy as we speak. They sent me pics and videos of Atheist last concert over there. Mr. Schaeffer sent me through Ruben a personalized video thanking me for being a long time fan and for the music I made in my country, metal brothers unite! I cried when I heard about Sean's passing, since he was one of my biggest inspiration since I got a hold of Cynic's demos before Focus bro, which is the album that changed all metalheads here in this Caribbean island we call home. His memory will always live on and I have been a long time fan of you as well, since I bought that first Monstrosity album where you and George Corpsegrinder played together man. Shit, I had a big ass poster of you guys on the inside part of my bedroom's door that I cut out from a Metal Maniacs magazine. I had a monthly subscription. His legacy will live forever Jason, thank u for sharing!

Your video is uncredibly deep and loaded with emotions. I had just watched his DrumTalk interview just before and was blown away on how that man, my age, resonated life and spoke a lot the way I do. It felt like we had been brothers without knowing. And my admiration for him started with Human obviously. And onlh today, I hear him talk cozy in lenght in that interview, and watch your beautifully done video right after. . .Woe . . And I still don't know what ended his life . . .this is immensely weird, especially right after our mutual idol Neil. Man my sincere condolences truly. I understand he had been so close to you. Time will help your mourning, I feel you brother ☀️ R.I.P. to your Amazing and Awesome friend Sean.

Such a rad video. Thank you for sharing, Jason. I remember when the FOCUS album came out .. I've been a fan at least since HUMAN. And Sean's style and character always shone through.. I'm really at a loss for words after watching that. As I scour the internet for vids of him often now.. I met Sean once in Portland Oregon While on tour with Cynic .. I even got one pic with the guy and I can't find it. I'm not entirely sure how to say it but when he passed, it was as if a piece me was gone with him. As if a piece of myself had died. I always felt a strong connection with his playing and him as a person right from the beginning of hearing that pitter patter swell up at the intro to HUMAN. I'm glad he and i got to meet even if only for a very short time. He influenced my style so much from just those 2 albums it's just absolutely priceless.. He is indeed so very missed.. Thank you again, Jason..

Great video, Jason. I found Cynic in 2008, and I'm a drummer. Between then and now, I can hardly put into a YT comment a synopsis that would do justice to the times & experiences & life I've had while listening to Sean & Cynic. I saw 'em live, I've dosed up to their albums multiple times, and put tons of hours into listening to their music in different environments otherwise. To say he's one of my favorite drummers would be a very easy thing, definitely a top-3er. I never met the guy in person, at the end of the day I'm a fan at a distance. Yet, with the connection I have to his musical output, it's as if I've lost a friend who I've known for 12 years. There's a burn to it. I don't expect it to cool off for quite some time. But that's fine, because I'd rather not go cold on someone so influential. Sean, thank you man. RIP
