Mayer himself said in one of his interviews about playing the guitar is that you can rip off his music in any way you like. As long as you have a good understanding about the guitar, go have fun with it or do it better than he did.

Can I tell you how many times I've listened to this on repeat? I found this video years ago when I was going through a dark time in my life and the beauty of the somber interpretation of this song struck a chord with me inside. Thanks for sharing.

That subtle tag at 2:43 for “I don’t really understand” was dynamically perfect. Your playing is so vocal, I can almost hear Mayer singing as your notes ring out. You are a phenomenal player and I’m happy to listen whenever your videos are recommended!

I recently started listening to more of John Mayer's music (specifically his live performance at the Nokia Theatre in L.A.), but I had yet to hear this song. Your version is just as, if not more beautiful than John's. You're sound is incredibly soothing which makes it the perfect music to have playing while I sit back, relax, and think about life :)

thats only partially true tho, if its the way he sounds in all his covers, then it could be his setup, because hes doing it all the time. Yes everyone has a slightly different tone, but the guitar is like a piano, and unlike a horn. it sounds pretty much the same no matter who is playing it, if you're doing it the same way. It's not like a horn where everyone sounds very different, even on the same horn.

This is some of the most tasteful, musical, and dynamic guitar playing I have ever watched. Incredible job. (No question that this level of guitar tone is mostly in the hands...but I'm still curious...what's your signal chain, amp, mic, etc.? This is one of the most warm and unique tones I've ever heard.)
