We do, but speaking from personal experience, lefties care little about nuance. They have a clear picture of their enemy. Once you indicate that you don't fully share their views on any of these "controversial" issues, you're automatically in the same boat as all the other people that exist (that say far more extreme things than you are) and all those who allegedly exist (e.g. those white supremacists that we are always hearing about). The core problem, then, is that for them, all discussion of these issues has been done and we therefore don't need to discuss these issues further, e.g. the claim that whites are racist is axiomatic to their world view. It can't be challenged.

Ironically you can very clearly observice this effect further down in the comment section of this very video. I'm reading someone named Martian Anthropologist cite some positions and arguments from Thomas Sowell's books and someone called odinata constantly and from what it looks like intentionally misunderstanding him over and over again.

@@Sebastian-hg3xc they unknowingly negate all subjectivity through negation of their own. This is clear even by how they refer to human differences by assigning it a color. Their ignorance is visible for anyone to see. Hypocrisy is the privilege of the powerful. So then if they negate all subjectivity including their own then we can conclude that they are not the cause of their own understand on these matters, but are actually performing a role being given to them. They act as puppets who dance to the tune of their unobserved observer yet they call it democracy. Can freedom of Will be expressed without the unfree Will of others or is total freedom just the domesticated unfree Will of everyone?

@@jengleheimerschmitt7941 It is totally obvious fact to anyone sane, that words (speech) can cause damage. For example people can be accused of being racists, pedophiles, communists etc. and find their lives in ruin. Also non-physical bullying traumatizes (i.e. damages) countless children every day. Only question is where the lines should be drawn. Personally I favor Chomsky's position, who supports extremely wide freedom of speech. But you can't even face reality and instead make a childish caricature (strawman) of the issue to avoid any thinking.

29:30 Asking people on the internet to respect you is a very clear sign that this person has very little conversational experience on the internet. Maybe they exchanged a few tweets in the echo chamber that is Twitter, but you don't get respect on the internet by asking or even demanding it. That's just not how respect works. Respect has to be earned and on the internet you start out as no body, so obviously nobody respects you. As a keyboard warrior myself I'll put forward my 2 most important points for conversations on the internet: 1) Don't get triggered by overly rhetorical or aggressive comments. Most of the time people write these comments to set themselves apart from others and therefore gain attention. There are too many people on the internet and if you want to stay out, you have to put in the extra insult. 2) Try not to misrepresent and always point out when someone else misrepresents you. The most common fallacy that kills discussions on the internet is that people will unintentionally or even intentionally misrepresent your position, usually in a way that makes it easier to defeat "your" argument. If someone isn't interested in what you have to say, there is no sense in further talking to them.

I disagree on so many levels. You and Graham had a very respectful and interesting conversation, but I disagree on so many points. Saying MGTOW inevitably leads to women hating is ridiculous. It certainly can, but in the same way only listening to Fox News COULD make you think that racism doesn't exist or only listening to CNN COULD make you think someone's automatically racist if they voted for Trump. YOU need to TRY to think critically and have the DESIRE to not fall into these group think traps. I'm not down w/ this silencing voices bs, unless you're calling for the death of a certain group of people or ACTUAL violence against people...leave them be and let them speak. What neither of you are acknowledging is that conservative voices are far more often targeted and cancelled because the media is overwhelmingly dominated by PC woketavists. If it was the other way around I'm sure a lot more people would suddenly become free speech advocates. Words ARE NOT violence. Bc we younger generations feel that way doesn''t mean it should be accepted. The definition of violence has worryingly changed to include words bc we are a coddled generation looking for problems and losing a sense of meaning in this technological and social media age. As for bullying, the onus is on the one being bullied to turn off their phone, let maliciousness roll of ur back, and STAND UP FOR YOURSELF. It's somehow now taboo to promote fighting back it someone is even physically assaulting. That's not to say that bullied kids don't need support systems, but the world is cruel and telling the bullies to stop bullying shows parallels to our tendencies to just silence dissenters. It symbolic and superficial action that doesn't actually treat the real issue and actually exacerbates it. It's not actually helpful. We also fail to acknowledge that we are ANIMALS subject to evolutionary biology and are ill equipped to navigate this brave new world. It's a thin veil of culture and civilization we wear, so I'd say it's a miracle and hopeful that we've even done as well as we have. EVERYONE has their prejudices. As for privilege, if you are American you are ridiculously privileged compared to the rest of the world. That's something I think we don't talk about enough. So much grieving and not enough GRATEFULNESS for what we do have. Being grateful has been scientifically proven to be key to mental health, even in the face of horrors, so getting absorbed in perpetual victimhood thinking is the antithesis of happiness and mental health.

Everyone dancing around cultural differences that are the real issue behind racism here. The cultural differences are not bound by race, in my opinion it is very class based and localized. What you have with the racial equality movement is a heap of its supporters looking for help. Nobody wants to tell them that the way they are, their culture, is what is keeping them from "success" in today's culture. Which has been exacerbated by social media and molded by group mentality.

Just wanted to state that I gave this a thumbs down not for any of the reasons one might think from this discussion. It was mostly a good discussion, but when it became readily apparent that he has a serious blind spot when it comes to Christianity, and in particular it's negative effects on the African American community, I have to question the blind spots he permits in the other avenues of his research as well. This wouldn't be as big of a deal if not for the fact that his area of research has direct consequences to this issue.

OR you could go the woke Chad approach and deconstruct the meaning of race until it no longer exists in any real way, and we'll all be part of the same human race. But, really, even if you did somehow achieve a monoracial society, it'd just become a warmongering power motivated by racial hatred, and the international community would have to act against it - in whatever way necessary to stop it. I will defend to the death a citizen's right to call prostitution "sex work", however this does not mean young girls should not be distanced from this framing (as far away as humanely possible). No little girl grows up wanting to be a prostitute. All women involved in this activity have been sexually abused/used; whether through sexual assault, being taken advantage of, child abuse, manipulated into self-objectification (compromising their dignity/innocence as a long-term partner and therefore generating commitment to their abuse state), conditioned into sexualisation by the advertising of arbitrary products (mimetics), have experienced opportunistic short-term male reproductive strategy (misinterpreting adoration of their fertility as love) in what they thought was a mutual (genetically cointerested) relationship, have mental abnormalities, etc. The current state of the psychological research on this topic is poor/lacking because of the ideologically biased social sciences and the sensitive nature of the evolution of sexual desire/reproductive strategy. Research the Nordic model.
