Riffin' out one of the newer Vampire Weekend songs, 'Harmony Hall'. A very easy guitar song that sounds impressive and is fun to play. Also a great excuse to talk a little about how to use intervals to harmonize a melody. All hail the power of the 4th!

Their lead guitarist actually plays this without a capo, which is pretty impressive finger dexterity.

Love the vid, just heard this song the other day and wanted to learn it because I though it sounded cool. Quick question though for maybe a future video: if you have 2 acoustic or 2 electric guitars playing chords to the same song, what can one of the guitars do differently give a different sound or add another different layer? Can you harmonise chords in some way like with the riff in the vid? Hope I explained it ok, thanks.

Sean, is it just me or does their instrumental part at about 3:44 sound like a Grateful Dead jam? Especially the lead guitar, it reminds me of Touch of Gray.

Live, the band plays it electric and not acoustic. And it almost reminds me of “Snow (Hey Oh)” by the Chili Peppers. So it almost sounds like a John Frusciante lick.
