Flick of the Switch should have been the follow-up album to Back in Black. It has the same feel and the substance and Power that Back in Black has. Not quite as strong but it's all there. AC DC were way too over ambitious when it came to For Those About to Rock. What's For Those About to Rock have besides the title track and a few somewhat Rockin Tunes like Let's get it Up and I put the finger on You and you can throw a Snowballed in there and that's about it. Go get Flick of the Switch and listen to it. It's much closer to Back in Black and once again definitely should have been the follow-up to Back in Black. Flick of the Switch is seriously underrated.

I always loved “Powerage” the most. I think “sin city” is a beast of a song. As a guitar player I still enjoy putting this album on and jamming along. They are all great to play along to. Try to do what Malcolm does for an hour. Angus was the star on stage but Malcolm held the rhythm guitar down so tight that he deserves major props. I used to dream about what gig I would take if I could replace one rock star and Mal was my choice. Just bobbing your head and cranking out the rhythm in front of a wall of Marshall stacks.

Summer of 1977 I’m 9 years old growing up on the west side of San Antonio Tx n my neighbors Joe n Roy in their early teens.. I’m in their room looking thru their album collection n I see the album cover of Let There Be Rock and I recall saying AC/DC.. in awe of the album cover they looked over at me n told me play it.. I put the needle on Let There Be Rock and instantly became one of their biggest fans...

Bill H thx my sister n my other neighbor, Reymundo from across the street were Judas Priest fanatics, my younger brother Eddie was u guessed it Maiden fan...Moses from down the street was big on Sabbath, my brother from another mother Mike was Van Halen, my best friend Martin was into Pink Floyd and his brother was into Scorpions.. My sister n I managed to get to the third row of AC/DC’s Flick of the Switch tour at the old Hemisphere Arena when Angus came out into the crowd a roadie knocked my sister into the ground. As I checked on her to see if she was ok, she was so excited because she had somehow managed to grab Angus by his shoe and was trying to take off for a souvenir and that’s why the roadie pushed her to the ground LOL..,that’s her brush with fame 😂😂

01. Powerage 02. Dirty Deeds 03. Highway to Hell 04. Back In Black 05. High Voltage 06. Let There Be Rock 07. Razors Edge 08. For Those About to Rock 09. Jailbreak 10 on all the newer stuff Powerage wins out for me as it is the bluesiest album with my favorite song, Down Payment Blues followed by Gimme a Bullet; two awesome tunes with every other song being something I can listen to on repeat without skipping. Dirty Deeds always seemed under rated in my opinion. Ride On, Ain't No Fun, Squeeler,, as a "B" side type of guy, this album was the mother load. The songs that got air play are really the ones I don't listen to anymore. Highway to Hell had to be there for Touch To Much, Walk All Over You, and Night Prowler; Pure Classics. Back In Black don't get much listening to by me anymore but this album had such an impact on me. It came out when I was 10-11 and it changed me. Razors Edge is so under rated but almost every tune kicks ass. Their last great in my opinion. All the stuff after Razors Edge kinda seem like a blend of the same type of song for the most part. I have them but rarely pick them up anymore. In any event, AC/DC kicks ass and is one of my favorite bands. Seen them over 20 times and will continue to as long as they are willing to tour. Legends of Rock and Roll!!

well I been a AC/DC Fan since the late 70's when I seen them live & they back up Kiss & man they were unbelievable they were 5 Aussie banging away on their instruments & Bon & Angus were doing their thing on stage & off stage & the way Bon sang like it was his last breath & how he was so full of Rock & Roll energy I still say that was my favourite rock & roll gig of all time & I seen a lot of rock & roll gigs in my time being in my early 50s u can imagine how many rock & roll gigs I been to I have to be honest that the Bon Scott records are all my favourite records but not to take away from Brian Johnson records they are all really great records but if I had to choose I would of loved would it be like if Bon was still alive & made those records that Brian made I think I would sell my soul just to hear those records song by Bon I miss Bon & I hope he is in Rock & Roll Heaven were ever he is!!!

OMG!!!! Let There Be Rock is also my favourite AC/DC album!! People usually look at me sideways and think I've lost my mind by not saying either Back in Black, Highway to Hell, or my second favourite AC/DC album, Powerage. There is just something about Let There Be Rock that pushes all the right buttons in my lizard brain. It's only eight tracks but they are absolute, killer, quintessential AC/DC. Bad Boy Boogie and Whole Lotta Rosie are simply outstanding, core Bon Scott era songs. Overdose, Go Down and Crabsody in Blue look forward to Powerage. Dog Eat Dog and Hell Ain't A Bad Place to Be look forward to Highway to Hell. And then there's Let There Be Rock which, imho, is the best song AC/DC ever recorded and captures exactly what the band has been about since 1973. All I can say is thanks, Pete!! I know you might have a different opinion now, three years later, but for me, Let There Be Rock has been my go to AC/DC album for nearly 40 years.

I am not a big fan, but personally I love Highway To Hell front to back and there is a large separation between that and the rest of their catalog. Not to say the rest of their catalog isn't good, but Highway to Hell is their evergreen record to me. Pete, any chance you could do a Saxon ranking sometime? I am starting to get into their catalog more this year but I am bouncing all over the place with their records, tough to choose!
