Search for the Rarest Hummingbird: Blue-bearded Helmetcrest

Күн бұрынIn February 2024, we set out to find one of, if not the rarest hummingbird in the world. The Blue-bearded Helmetcrest was thought to be extinct for nearly 70 years, but in 2015 it was rediscovered in the remote Santa Marta mountains in Colombia. The hike to get to the birds is extremely challenging, but Bogota Birding put together an excellent itinerary.

I started watching this video and lost it. I checked my history and could not find it, but kept on searching until I found it and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely loved it! How exciting to finally get your target and what beautiful video and photos. I don't think I could make that trip, so it was almost like being there. You did great!

Thank you! I use a Sony A1 and the 200-600 lens. Sure would like to try out their 600 f4 some day!
