Excellent video!! Really appreciate you showing this superior technique in doing google search like auto text. Now we need to figure out if the dropdown can auto dropdown when the cell is clicked rather than clicking the arrow to view the drop down, possible? That would be the ultimate icing on the cake!!

PK, thank YOU! I have access to MS Teams/Office 365 and online version of excel, but I am bound by an old 2016 version of the desktop excel, so anything I do can only rely on the older excel functions. I have a sheet where you can create a row by selecting items in a drop down in the first column, but of course there are 3,000 plus items in the list, and you must scroll through most of them to get to the item you want. This will help us greatly, you are awesome!💯

thank you SO MUCH, that is exactly what I wanted to do!!! regarding the error at the end (which you created the macro for) - in my case it only needs to doubleclick into the cell (like where you wrote Zim) as if I want to continue writing and the dropdown choices update

Hi PK. Great resource and helpful. Quick query regarding it however, since I’ve added the VBA Macro in as well, I’ve lost the ability to be able to copy and paste cells. When I highlight and copy, it will do the dashed lines, but when I next click it disappears. Any thoughts?

Thank you PK. Can I ask is there any way of this returning content from another column on the data sheet as well as the nane? I was hoping to use the search box to find an entry and then have a phone number column that would show in a cell next to the searchable drop down. Also does it allow you to add additional data?

Thank you for this solution. I have used it and it works very well. I want to go one step further and when I start to type in letters in the cell of a dropdown list I want to be able to see the results displayed automatically without having to click the dropdown arrow and then to be able to select the correct name from the list. It is sort of like hovering. Do you have any solutions to offer? Many thanks for a great channel.

Thanks for your video, I have just used it to add the function to one of my spreadsheets. I am however having dicciculty with the last step the VB part. I have followed the steps but it does not seem to have worked and I cant figure out why. I would also like to have it applied to multple worksheets and I am not sure if (when I get it working) I would need on every sheet. Any help would be appreciated.
