GoPros tend to be extremely glitchy sometimes, and they are finicky with SD cards too. I have a Hero 9+/black and I've had the no audio issues when recording my Karting sessions...it's frustrating. You might have to switch to one of those DJI cameras but they expensive asf...

Nick why not put the wheels you have bought in 1 of the cars you have bought surely this is possible or have the 3 cars already left Japan Surprised you didn't hire a Kei to see what a modern kei is like to drive etc & have climate control cruise control etc. Also id have hired a manual sorry stick for the mountain roads round Japan .
