We battled through rain, snow and ferry cancellations to reach the Isle of Jura before hiking 22km on our hunt for the Corryvreckan Whirlpool! It's the third largest whirlpool in the world, found just off the north tip of Jura - an island that's home to around 200 people and 6000 deer.
The Corryvreckan Whirlpool is said to be where the Cailleach, Scotland's creator deity, washes her plaid every winter and where a Norse Prince was dragged to his death while trying to win the heart of the woman he loved! Even if you're not lucky enough to see it, this hike is still well worth the effort while visiting Jura!
Whether you want to hike all day past George Orwell's house to reach the viewpoint or you're just planning to visit Jura and want some inspiration, hopefully this video will help with your Scotland trip planning!
