i got chills at 3 parts: when the fish_n_chips girl showed up as the model for the memorial site, when they zoomed into the ex-convict’s face and we could see it was the suspect, and when he said that she only had to live down there for 2 days because there was a storm. this movie was amazing, i never get chills from a movie

How about when David asks Vick what she did when she found out her son was going around the neighborhood asking for money for a fake charity. Her response was that she would basically lie and said she founded the charity to protect her son from getting caught. (Foreshadowing the ending where she in fact covered for her son)

Roller coaster ride is exactly how I described it when I saw it last night. This movie is intense at times, but also super grounded. They got so many things right--leaving in spelling/typing errors, capturing the tone of a teen, the BS attention-seeking behavior of her classmates when Margot's story goes public... And not to mention that John Cho was seriously good in this flick.

Also, a nice small touch is when John goes on YouCast for the first time and goes live, fish and chips joins instantly, then realizes its John and leaves. The reason this happened is Robert got a notification she went live, and thought Margot was still alive and casting. Crazy from his perspective what that must have felt like.

Here is an easter egg that only those in law enforcement may catch. The Name Randy Cartoff is not a regular name. The word CART is used to abbreviate Child Abduction Rescue Team. Every police department has a CART.

An interesting easter egg is when John calls Vick and thinks he knows where Margot was going, he never mentions where he is or that he is at Barbosa lake. Vick answers the phone and asks, are you at the lake? How would she know where he was?

In the opening scene, when Margot uploads that video of doing piano with her mother in like (4th/5th grade or something), there is again foreshadowing and nod to when Vick later says “He liked her since grade school”, and on Margot’s post, he liked the video and said “your so good”

I like how looking back you can really start to understand why Vick's so distraught and emotional about the case and continuously tells her son to get the fuck out of the room.

Remarkably awesome movie. Every single second of this movie keeps the viewer engaged and honestly executes plot in the most interesting possible way.

Dude you caught way more than I would have caught. For me to have seen 1/2 of these easter eggs I would have needed a few hours and a pause button. This was truly impressive.

The character John Kim was named after James Kim, the Cnet technology analyst who went missing from his family in the mountains, and died trying to find them in 2006.

There is another easter egg: When John finds out about the lake he goes there and when he calls vick she asks him whether he is at the lake... But he never told her he was going to the lake...he was too worried that he didn't notice.... I highly recommend this movie...it LITERALLY send chills down our spine.....

I thought the movie was amazing and smart. I would've never picked up on these Easter eggs and even if I watched it again, I would probably forget to look for them cause the movie is that engaging. That being said, I liked all the little clues of how even though David didn't know his daughter, there were still things that didn't fit right with him. The alien subplot is a cool little thing that does seem like it could be a future movie (that's how movies are now; there's always something franchise or shared universe now)

What an emotional roller coaster.... I was initially skeptical because the format seemed gimmicky, but I was completely sold in the end. Props to John Cho for a great performance. That third act will pull you in 10 different directions before that gut punch of a reveal. My blood ran cold

Also, it was highly suspicious that she kept face timing him from her own home, only a person carrying enormous guilt would go to that length.
