Seascape, Fluid Art Painting Techniques. I have to say that I'm not super proud of this painting, it was a struggle. But please watch to the end as sometimes I like to give a little explanation of my process and at the end of the day, I share my struggles, in the hope that it will inspire you to go and persevere in whatever project you are in the middle of!
As always your feedback and communication is very much appreciated, you are all so thoughtful and kind. I did do a voice over in this video and realised that I sounded quite sad at the end! This was only because I wasn't feeling 100% and at the time was waiting for the results of a COVID test. Thankfully it came back negative!
I think i will do one more in this little series, just to see if I can improve on this painting. Then, I have some new ideas that I need to get out of my head and onto a canvas!
Colours Used in this painting are:
Pebeo Blue/Black
Pebeo 357
Daler Rowney Graduate Indigo
above darkened with Golden's Fluid Bone Black
Deco Art 24K Gold

I think it is stunning! I agree art is very subjective, beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder. No one will know the struggles you had they will just fall in love with the end results. No one is as hard on us than we are! 💙💛💙💛

Julie, seas are moody... when you’re feeling under the weather I think it becomes part of your energy. It’s part of the reason many find so much calm in seas and seascapes, because we relate to it somehow. You’re painting is absolutely lovely and you have used your tools and skills to cheer it up, for you. So glad to hear your test was negative and I look forward to spending time with you again next week ;). Xoxo

Thankyou Patricia! You are correct Art does reflect our moods and yet it also offers complete escapism from reality just for a short while! That’s why I began to paint again (with brushes) a few years ago… I had a very stressful day job and painting was my way out of a bad head space. Thank you for watching ! 🤗

To me this painting looks like waves curling over, crashing, and the sun shining on the water in very specific manners. The white you added is the sea foam and the gold leaf is sunshine on the water. It's really a beautiful abstract of the seas and I love it.

Love the final painting, very glamorous seascape. But also love the look of the piece before your embellishments, while the paint spread in ways you didn't intend because of unlevel canvas, this actually resembled the natural look of waves flowing off from the beach at receding tide quite closely. Great video, love how you honestly talk about your process and thoughts about a painting. And lovely music too. Glad that your Covid test turned out negative, hope you are feeling well now? Nathalie

I love your videos and watching your process. I love that you share your “mistakes” and how you’ve fixed them. This painting is more beautiful than you realize. I don’t see any mistakes or struggles. Beautiful and interesting foliage in the foreground. It’s stunning. Makes me feel homesick. 💕

I think a canvas with some paint on it waits for the artist to bring out what’s hidden right under and between all colours and the canvas. Some times happens by first attempt and sometimes makes you work hard for it. On this painting if you struggled but you did it. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

another beautiful painting. i think we learn more through our struggles than when everything goes 'right' . It pushes us to go further, discover more of what is hidden inside of us. I'm loving my art journey and its so nice to share in a little bit of yours. thankyou Julie.
