It is a redemption plot that makes a lot of sense, because he killed his girlfriend but it hurt him, he was hooked on fame and money. You can see how it hurt him to kill his girlfriend (white woman) when he talked to Hughie, and he wasn't blaming Hughie. His entire plot is being perfect for his redemption. I always liked the character, he also helped VS the Nazi. Stop talking nonsense about how they do it because he's black, brother, what nonsense you said. You are the typical one that the series itself laughs at.

Maybe the best redemption arcs ever. It was so natural because it began so early in s1 but it was super slow, and then in s4 it accelerated in such a believable way. There is so much substance to him with things like his brother pushing him away for his selfishness, that whole fighting racism arc in s3 that only started for vought propaganda but in the end he truly believed in it, Homelander’s mistreatment of him etc etc. His arc is so deeply rooted in him that it is fully believable and truly well written
