Honestly to me, DRG was completed a while ago. The fact they keep adding more and more to do is awesome. For everyone who's 100% the game, were obviously chomping at the bit for more to do, and I also LOVE new content. But I also play just for fun at this point. So for me, anything new is just bonus goodies. That being said, I hope to see LOTS more cosmetics, missions, etc I. The future but I'm in no rush. Whatever the devs need, they've captured my heart with their game.

about the blood sugar mutator and potentially incompatible low hazard levels of mission types: the mutator should only drain HP down to a certain percentage like 1%, and never to zero. that would solve all the problems while still accomplishing the goal of making killing bugs important.

On the going back to old seasons thing - My number one struggle in DRG is finding stuff to grind for once I'm finished the seasonal content. Yeah you have the weekly assignments, but after that...? So I like that I'll have the option of going back to an older season and doing some of its season pass while I wait for the next *actual* season to come out. I get through content pretty quickly

Honestly this might be drg's last hurrah. I hope not, but i dont see how switching between developing DRG and Rogue Core is going to be feasable long term.

My deep rock save is bugged in some way where whenever I find and open a cargo crate in a mission and press E to loot it, I receive no reward. The game claims I've got everything unlocked. When in fact I do NOT have everything unlocked. I am missing multiple frameworks for each weapon in the game. This glitch is confirmed on the DRG bug report forums so at least I am not alone in this issue. However it feels like a kick in the nuts to see content I should already have access to locked behind another grind. I love this game and have put over a thousand hours into it since I started in season 3, I just wish I didn't have to grind 200 more hours just to get my hands on the builders choice warthog shotgun to match my grenade launcher.

I haven't finished the whole video yet (I will likely listen at work tonight) but I have an interesting perspective on the roadmap. I have over 1000 hours on DRG, and ~ 1000 hours on deckbuilding rogelikes such as slay the spire, moster train, and balatro. I also really enjoy a lot of the survivor style games. And I love roguelikes of all kinds, so I'm very very interested in rogue core. Honestly, the roadmap has kind of a banger line up. I haven't played spell rogue yet, but I'm definitely interested. I liked DRG survivor a good amount, not my favorite survivor game but it honestly brought a lot of cool mechanics to the genre and I could definitely see myself coming back to it when it gets updates. Interestingly, a lot of diablo and PoE streamers LOVED drg survivor. I'd hoped some of them would give drg a chance, but I haven't seen any of them try it yet. It sucks that the DRG updates have slowed down so much, but game development is time consuming, and season 5 looks really good imo. If DRG is your primary game, I can see being disappointed in the current roadmap. If you enjoy variety gaming, it's an incredible time to be a gamer. so many great games as of late. I know I'll be sinking a ton of time into Elden Ring when the dlc drops for example.

I think during the drilling sequence the enemies would have to target the elevator until they reach within some small radius of the elevator, then target players, that way they won't chase a player who stays topside. Also at this point doing the health like hack-c would be what I hope for, so if players try to let the elevator go down on its own the mission can't finish, but getting a bulk detonator is just a guaranteed "you have to restart the elevator" rather than a fail. I think you guys made a good point about how slow the content is projected to come in. For players who only want to play one of standard or rogue core there will be a lot of content droughts! Maybe they plan to expand.

Really like this format, where you two complemented eachother very well, not to mention the knowledge and most important, the overall love and appreciation y'all have for this game. I'm way more hopeful about this season then the other ones, albeit that's not saying much, but I still don't know how they'll manage roguecore and drg at the same time...

A full length mining expedition or escort duty is pretty long, one of those but proportioned vertically where the first section happens in a cave the size of say a egg hunt would leave a LOT of space to drill through in the elevator

On flipping the drop pod, I assume that the jetty boots are only gonna be available once you hit the extract button to discourage flipping (if its even possible). But if it is possible, then you could still get back down safely pretty easily, as any class (gunner might have some trouble in solo though). Also how do we know the Drillevator has health?

I gotta say... I'm glad I have a hard main. I'm going to play every character but that's only to get the memorial hall filled up. Because if I was trying to 100% all the old seasons I'd lose it. My only goal is to get everything for 1 character. Makes it way easier, then I can go back later on to finish them.

The thing is tho, DRG is already a finished game. DRG is like No Mans Sky in that everything after a certain point is just adding on to an already completed product, and that changes the variables on what their budget should look like. As long as DRG makes sales and keeps business they won’t abandon ship, but it also makes sense that they’re sending feelers out for what people would want their next big title to be. Waiting until after DRG loses steam to begin their production doesn’t make sense.

I think the concern with MFD is whether the increased focus ammo cost will give a bonus worth having no focus damage whatsoever, since focus is a pretty useful mechanic of the M1K. Like, if all you get is a free IFG, it'd be really mediocre against anything but Dreads or Bosses. And it'd be especially mediocre fighting on your own.

I think season 5 is the most important update so far. We haven't received updates for a long while. And we won't for another 8 months at least. So it better be better that we expect. Though we managed to get through a year of season 4 so who knows lol. By the time rogue core early access is out we'll have a lot of content I hope, because it's obviously a new game, and since ghost ship is way bigger than what it was on early access release of drg, and they have experience, assets, previous work. Like they have the ingredients necessary for the game to be good. I believe in them. And making season 6 for drg is obviously easier and less time consuming so the wait for it would be less, unless they split dev time between games. What I really like about season 5 is that it adds a lot of replayability. Haz5 modifiers and past seasons is a lot of content to go through. And we know that most people have joined in seasons 3 and 4, so they'll have a ton of stuff to go through. Also I think buffing some useless overclocks can add quite some playtime by just changing 2-3 numbers. Mini shells for example. If it got buffed I'd play at least 20 missions with it. Don't know why they don't buff useless overclocks tbh, seems like such a missed opportunity. Also good to see you back man, would like to see more of your elite gameplay. It's always so pleasant to watch the best of the best.

My only problem with MfD is that depending on implementation its going to be cool for specifically teammplay dreads and not much else. I think its cool and maybe implementation will totally prove me wrong, but I dont love overclocks designed to be so situationally used especially when conceptually its so cool

They *need* to diversify their income streams in order to survive. To just dive deeper and solely into one IP, which only really benefits a minority of gamers, would be irresponsible by the people who need to keep people gainfully employed.

I didn't even know they were making a DRG sequel. Wouldn't it be easier to add new modes/ dlc or even rework some mechanics? Like why get a new engine and support 2 live service games
