I felt Lee bullied Wutong alot, he certainly used his power against her, infact they all did. Wutong loved Lee so much that she looked past his faults. Wutong character was highly naive and therefore she was taken advantage of, however she was loving ,kind and saw the best in others. But isn't this how the world is, power, prestige and fame goes along way and the little guy always seem to suffer the most. The theme of this movie is Universal in today's life.

@@jenniferhuff4895 cause no matter what he always thinks the worst before the best. Not to mention he didn’t really examine. He didn’t have faith in her. And it was sleeping pills apparently (at least from the translation I saw). But he should have punched his brother for betraying their friendship, especially when he found out she was pregnant. They both her hurt. It also didn’t help having such an awful mother insulting her and constantly re-enforcing the idea of her being a lying evil gold-digger. This man should have got on his knees and asked for her forgiveness. They both should have.
