The Dalmatian railway line runs from Knin to Split and Šibenik and is operated by HŽPP. During most of the year, the railway traffic on the line is minimal, in addition to one Zagreb - Split InterCity train a day, only a few local trains run here. In the summer, however, the traffic on the line increases significantly thanks to the seasonal trains to Split. HŽPP runs trains daily from Osijek and Vukovar, ŽSSK trains twice a week from Bratislava and MÁV-START three times a week from Budapest, under the name Adria InterCity. Unfortunately, Regiojet did not run direct trains from Prague to Split this year. These trains are always hauled by 2044 series locomotives, nicknamed "Mala Karavela", manufactured by the American Electro-Motive Division(EMD). This year I filmed between Split and Perković, on this section the trains have to overcome a huge difference in level. Electrification is not possible here due to the terrain conditions, so hopefully the valley will rumble with EMD locomotives for a long time to come!
A dalmáciai vasútvonal Kninből Splitbe és Šibenikbe vezet, a HŽPP üzemelteti. Az év nagy részében elenyésző a vasúti forgalom, a napi egy Zágráb - Split InterCity mellett csak néhány helyi személyvonat közlekedik erre. Nyáron azonban jelentősen megnő a vonal forgalma a Splitbe közlekedő szezonális nemzetközi vonatoknak köszönhetően. Naponta indít vonatokat Eszékről és Vukovarból a HŽPP, hetente kétszer Pozsonyból a ŽSSK és hetente háromszor Budapestről a MÁV-START, Adria InterCity néven. Sajnos a Regiojet idén nem indított vonatokat Prágából közvetlenül Splitbe. Ezeket a vonatokat minden esetben a "Mala Karavela" becenevű, az amerikai Electro-Motive Division(EMD) által gyártott 2044-es sorozatú mozdonyok vontatják. Idén Split és Knin között videóztam az idényvonatokat. A villamosítás ezen a szakaszon a terepviszonyok miatt nem lehetséges, így remélhetőleg sokáig zeng még a völgy az EMD mozdonyoktól!

ZSSK/ÖBB Nightjet also three times. 😉 Unfortunately, it is the most expensive provider on the route, as the prices are measured according to ÖBB standards without offering the same quality. For comparison: since RegioJet didn't run this year, I used the train Bratislava - Split and back. Price for the outward journey in a couchette (occupancy of 6) 120 euros, return 90 euros. With RegioJet I paid 41 euros 2 years ago, 44 last year. And both times I had a 4-berth compartment to myself.

Thank you for your comment. I completely agree with what you wrote about the ŽSSK/ÖBB train and unfortunately it is quite expensive if we choose it for travel, but the positive thing is that you can also transport your car on it, which is currently unique in terms of trains to Split. Regiojet was really missed this season in my opinion, I hope they will return to Split with a daily connection next summer because they provide quite good service at a very fair price. I went to the Croatian sea 3 times this year, each time I traveled with the HŽPP "Dalmacia" train from Zagreb and I was surprised because I received a relatively good service at a very low price, I traveled for €25 each way.
