I struggled with mine for almost a year. I was getting desperate and was considering dismantling the entire seatbelt assembly to fix it. My buckle slot is just narrow enough for the belt to feed through so I all my past attempts to flip the belt never worked. Thank you so much for this video! I was going to give it one last ditch effort before breaking out the air compressor and air tools - this worked!

hey bro…ty for this vid!! omg i’ve been going nuts trying to get this problem fixed since we got my wife this used 2015 Mini Coop! i even brought it to our local auto mechanic and the manager wanted to charge us $100 to look n fix it! OMGGGG! i said WTF!! nope..just dealt with it and today i researched via GOOGLE search and found ur vid on YT, what a life saver and it literally took 5 mins to do. the tricky part trying to keep the fold FOLDED and trying to pull it down. once the fold stayed in place i was able to pull it down and it slid the butter! TY AGAIN BRO👍🏼💪🏼

Definitely try this first. I had the bolt out at the end and was considering twisting the plastic cover. Glad I did this instead. Looking at it nothing else made sense but this way.

Thank you so much! Really helped with my car as passengers didn't like it being twisted and I was about to take mine apart before seeing this. I found though that a easier way to get it to start going over the fold like this vid is to extend the seatbelt all the way so you have something to pull against.

OMG. I have been looking at junkyards for a replacement belt because of this issue. Like the vehicle in the video, I also have a Ford Ranger- the driver side belt is facing the wrong way. I could not fathom how to turn it around. This is simple and fast. Thanks X1000 for posting this. :-D

Awesome! Worked like a charm. I just got a new (used) car and one of the backseat seatbelt buckles was reversed and even though I don’t plan on riding back there often I had to fix for the sale of my obsessiveness when it comes to having everything function-as close to factory-as possible.

Like you mentioned i always try right at the buckle but its always harder that way - been needing to flip my daughters carseat buckle for a while now and knew there had to be an easier way so i searched on KZfaq and found your video! Thanks my ocd brain is super happy now 😂

Thanks very much, wasn't east though, took about 30 minutes, got a little confused at one stage, when it was half way across, couldn't make out which way I was supposed to bend it ! I used clamp pliers to hold the bend in place, much easier I found, probably a good idea to mark one side of the belt so you know which way to turn it !

Oh my gosh, that was SO easy, but I've struggled with this nonsense for years! My kids literally refused to sit in the backwards buckle seat.

Thanks! I struggled and cursed for half an hour trying to do this the wrong way, AT the belt holder.. then I did a yt search.. there are at least ten videos like yours that explain the easy, fast way to do it, and I watched a few of them and got the buckle turned the right way in seconds.. I don't know how it got turned the wrong way in the first place.. auto mfrs could easily solve this stupid problem by re-designing the sliding belt buckle thingie so it would be hinged or have a couple of exposed screws instead of being one solid piece of plastic, making it impossible to open.. the method you displayed was fast and easy and I don't know why I didn't think of it myself.. but I felt an enormous sense of accomplishment by doing it the right way.. heh.. Thanks again!..

It’s actually really dangerous because if you were in a serious accident the seatbelt can cut you because it’s tangled and not lying flat on your torso or chest, you my brother have saved lives👍
