Look up Mutsuko Soma on youtube and visit her restaurant called Kamenogi. She makes her own buckwheat soba noodles all by hand with locally sourced buckwheat and other ingredients. My sister is good friends with her. Matsuko has a very interesting story as well.

Totally agree. I'd only had little Yorkshire puds over the years till I actually went to York and had the big one like in this vid (so it was basically like the plate for the rest of the food). I can still taste it, it was so good. Then there's Betty's Tea House, too.

Dutch Baby Pancakes (German Pancakes) are super easy to make. I typically serve them with just butter, fresh lemon juice, and powdered sugar, although those fillings looked amazing. Seattle is definitely a favorite city of ours too! Looks like a great time for you two and those strange people with you 😉

I spent 6 months in Bellingham last year, and one of the things I miss this most? Beecher's smoked flagship! My favorite cheese ever. If anyone else out there is missing it and not wanting to pay the $25 for 8 oz to have it shipped, look for smoked Old Croc at your grocery store. It even has the little gritty bits in it. Very close! When they were talking about the cheese I thought "wonder if it's Beechers.." Yay! (It's seriously THAT good)

I was told the gum wall started because of the market theatre. You weren't supposed to chew gum in the theatre and so people would stick their gum on the wall before going in. It just sort of got out of control from there until it became a landmark
