Love seeing the ol' trio. Lou still had those daggers for J and something to prove and he's full-on here, if a little sloppy, but I love this Sebadoh. I saw this lineup a couple years later. With Gaffney, it was always a spectacle.

This is gold. Pure gold nuggets all soft and raw, fresh from the dirt. Amazing to see these three so young and hear these classics in their infancy...relatively.

Awesome to hear some live stuff from sebadoh III! Seen these guys many-many times and the only III song they seemed to play live, post-Eric, was the Freed Pig.

So cool to see Lou and Eric singing together in their youth. One can only hope for a Freed Man reunion tour.

there was a tour supporting the freed man and sebadoh iii reissues several years ago. i saw them in santa cruz. it was amazing, even topped when i saw them in '95 on the bakesale tour

"Sebadoh Classik" toured in '07. Not likely to happen again.

Yea...likely my greatest missed show regret. And to see in Santa Cruz makes it even better. Love that place. Did they keep it acoustic or switch it up. I should see if vids are on here from that tour. Did catch the Baksale tour. Kept yelling " Where's Eric" bc I was 18. And an asshole apparently. Also think a name change was reasonable. Perhaps the New Sebadoh. SInce Eric was 33.333% to 50% of the band... Right time and place - SF 2002, had me visiting a friend in walking distance to Bottom of the Hill. Caught a sick Fields of Gaffney show providing some redemption for missing that reunion you caught. He played many of his songs from Sebadoh days in an uncrowded spot... full of fire.

I don’t know why they’d keep his up and take down that old live video of jealous of Jesus. I love this video and that one that is now gone. Lou Barlow is hilarious and the tension in that old jealous of Jesus live video was unparalleled.

*this not his. I do long to see that old live version of jealous of Jesus again though.

J Mascis was also producing Buffalo Tom’s albums at the time so the “bitterness” thing was in reference to that.

Yes. It is not noted as the "upstairs" in the title because at the time (1990): this was the only space bands performed at the Middle East in Cambridge MA.
