Sebastian Shaw is the latest Season Pass card in Marvel Snap, and he seems like an absolutely perfect fit for a buff based Silver Surfer deck.
Decklist: snap.untapped....
Power Estimate: This list is rooted in the highest cube rate Silver Surfer deck prior to Sebastian Shaw's release, so it has a good proven core. Adding Sebastian Shaw and the buff package seemed to offer some surprisingly high power totals, and the deck still won consistently, so it'll be interesting to see if this is the new direction for this archetype once the data rolls in. Shaw also feels like a powerful tool with just a couple cards supporting him, so he may not require a dedicated buff package, increasing his flexibility.

For the first match shown, I don't think Regis realized that he'd have already met the condition to fill it before Gladiator filled it, making it actually the better choice. I know because I've filled the location in the same turn as my opponent, but lost the Raft Boost because it was filled during the turn, and they filled it with their played cards.

Shaw is INSANE with daken and werewolf! if you replace maximus and gladiator with them, they can get REALLY high powered, and they're all 3 drops

I think Daken is a pretty good alternative for gladiator for those who don't have him, but WBN is a bit awkward to use with brood. If you want to use wolf, I'd say you probably want to drop brood, but that would be a pretty big loss for the handbuff stuff.

@@gruenenator yeah idk, I'm getting sick of second dinner and their bullshit adjustments. no matter what you do you get screwed over if you don't get all cards, all decisions making with caches end up being irrelevant, you decided to skip a card? well sucks for you it gets buffed, you decided to get the other card? well sucks for you it's now got nerfed. all the cards I decided to skip got buffed, and all the cards I decided to get got nerfed. they always do this.

He feels underwhelming, but the deck counters a lot of decks with the killmonger and brood/forge/surfer on the final turn if you run sera wins a lot of games. 19/20 power in one lane in a single turn is crazy,

I think Nakia feels good in a Shaw deck, because you can hold her until she can hit Shaw or Brood. I feel like Okoye misses too easily though

There’s a glitch where the cards aren’t showing the right power sometimes when they’ve had a modifier. Confused the shit out of me for several games before I realised lol

I Think Shaw is better in a Wong Buff deck. things like Wong + Ironheart / Absorbing man, you can even keep Okoye and Nakia. but then you include the Panther / Zola package since Panther also benefits from the other cards as well

My biggest complaint and at the same time favorite thing about marvel snap is how unoriginal 90% plus the playerbase is. I saw this deck no less than 20 games yesterday and took it down 16 times for 4 to 8 cubes each time. Makes climbing each season a snap.

i would prob tke out chavez + cosmo n put in werewolf + sera making it a sera surfer for the turn 6 big play, plus theres alot of reveals in this deck. good enough for werewolf to get at least 2 buffs

The problem with that is Brood, you either go with Werewolf or Brood, as their playstyles are incompatible

Can someone pls explain to me why sera is good in surfer decks ? Is it just to save everything for one big pop off turn? (and if so why is that good?) Bc like, theoretically, isn't just playing a 3 drop on turn 5 the same number of 3 cost cards on the board, while also giving you the possibility of weaving in a 2 cost on turn 5. It sera just more defensible ?

. Sera gives you a big swing on the last turn and allows you to contest all 3 lanes even if you don't have surfer. Basically she makes it harder to play arround surfer

@@pedroabreu005 but like, how does she do that? What are the logistics of how she facilitates that? /gen I was running a sera surfer deck for a bit, and it seemed slow. Like I was skipping turns 1&2, so that I could play a 3 drop on turns 3&4, then Sera on 5, and three 3-drops on turn 6. So you're total card out put is five 3 cost cards + sera. More recently, I was running a hand/deck buffy brood+sinister+patriot+surfer deck. And basically, I would consistently have a 3 drop for turns 3,4,5, and then two on turn 6. But I can also weave in a Bast or forge, or a mojo or a sinister or w/e else in to turns 3,4, and 5. In every way it feel better to not include Sera. Unless you're trying to do some big Kingpin combo or something I just don't get it :( pls help

@@shardgunner4815Sera just makes it harder for the op to know what you have going on turn 6. She's also good if you're going heavy on tech like rogue and especially shadow king that wants you to give up priority (Killmonger too in some match ups). That said I don't think she's necessary in surfer.

Why would they completely rework a card like Chavez? She was seeing play without being broken. That is the perfect place for a card to be. If you're going to rework a card completely, you usually want it to be a card that sees no play, and would likely be toxic if it was ever viable, like Adam Warlock and Kang. Also just looked at the rest of the list, how could they ruin my boy Luke Cage. And my god Alioth is completely worthless now. Was it even still a problem? I haven't seen it much since its first nerf. I know it still saw play, but the -2 seemed to make it a lot more reasonable, couldn't just win a location on its own so easily.

The highest winrate Surfer list prior to the patch didn't run Sera. I suspect dropping priority on 5 with a weak play made it too risky into Alioth sometimes. And generally Sera prefers reactive turn 6 lines, like Rogue or Killmonger. This deck wants to be proactive for max stats. That said, Alioth is nerfed and data may bear out a different answer. Who knows!

The way I'm seeing Marvel Snap these days is like they're dishing out these powerhouse cards or "anchors" for all the different archetypes we've got. We have Hitmonkey for the OG bounce decks, Werewolf by Night for Loki or Bounce Hawk lists, Black Knight for those discard-focused ones, and Shaw for the Surfer decks. It's like each archetype's getting its own special boost.

I'm currently playing a similar deck I named "Shawra Surfer", which has Daken (Who I'm tempted to swap out) + Sera, instead of Cosmo + Chavez. I can see how the Chavez change fits her into this deck, but you have no idea when you are drawing Shaw (Howard is still a wasted card), and I don't like the RNG with it.

Gladiator can't finish a Raft for the opponent, because unrevealed cards count as the four, and your unrevealed Gladiator would trigger the Raft, meaning it wouldn't trigger when it called in an opposing card.

If you think about it though, with no Sera your playing a good buffable 3 drop and a 2 drop on 5. Then 2 3’s on 6. With Serra it is 4 points on turn 5 then 3 3 drops on turn 6. It does nothing really unless your going more 2 drop route that is, then she makes up some value.
