It's interesting, there is a known trend of "girl group stans" (or rather people who just gravitate more towards girl groups) having SVT as their designated fav boy group lol so I think there is a lot of cross over there in style even if SVT aren't necessarily doing anything overly "feminine"! (And same, Darl+ing is slightly underwhelming for me too).

I get what you mean about Darl+ing but it's not a title track so it's not necessarily supposed to be immediately hard-hitting or super catchy. It's a simple little song to vibe to instead. It's a real earworm though and listening to it on Spotify, not distracted by the MV, there's so many little quirky things in the production that I've grown to love it.

Yessss, I love everything about Seventeen

I totally agree with the feeling of Darl+ing being sort of hollow, I wanted more and then it was finished hahaha. But if it relates to the position seventeen was when they released this it makes total sense. Seventeen never had a storyline with their MVs , this is the first time, and with the ending of this music video and how it continues to the 4th album title track MV, I felt that it goes so well together. Actually, this is their first track in their Face the Sun album and it left me wanting more to actually see what the entirety of the album will bring. Anyway, that was my take on why it maybe felt lacking, not really meaning that it was bad. LOVE THE REACTION BTW

Darl+ing for me is the most seventeen vibe, I'm glad they stayed true to their sound and did not try to "westernize" their english release rather let it be true to kpop. Plus it's probably the only english song without an English writer or producer on it. Its all our God woozi!

Darling is the pre-release song for the 4th full album comeback called face the sun, that will be released tomorrow. If you get a chance you should check out the highlight medley because there is a no skips album because all the songs are great. Even songs that you may not like as much grows on you because it is SVT song, and just the power of SVT.

I agree with your sentiment regarding their choreo. The fact that they don't limit themselves when it comes to their choreo is what makes their choreos unique and so so so beautiful. You can tell that their main priority is to tell stories and to match the meaning or theme of the song. Sure, they have a lot of hard hitting choreos like Getting Closer and Hit, but even in those choreos, they know when to hit hard and when to pull back and focus more on imagery. Also, I get what you mean on Darl+ing. That was my first thought too but it's honestly such an earworm that I just end up humming it all day and appreciating the chorus more. My friends and I actually criticized it more than you did here but like our top most listened song right now is Darl+ing. lol. That chorus is like a drug.

Hoshi has this great performance of touch and he said that he wanted to do that song and dance it with "conventionally female" dance moves because he, rightfully, says that dance has no gender and he wanted to dance that song with more of female sensual moves, because they are just sexy moves and not just for girls or boys. I thought not only that he was right but that it was really refreshing seeing some male artist doing a hip swing instead of a hip thrust, ahahah. Even so I never thought that it reflected on their group choreos, but now that you mentioned it, it is kind of true that they have this androgynous way of dancing, and maybe that is why I like them more and more everyday
