Good one. You were right, BABYMETAL invited BMTH to tour with them in Japan late in 2019, BMTH were the opening act at 4 of their big arena shows there. They have been good friends for 6 or 7 years since they first met at a festival they were both playing in the UK and have often spoken about wanting to collaborate. BABYMETAL originally sent their contributions to 'Kingslayer' all in English. Oil Sykes asked them to include some Japanese. The Matrix feel you got from the song and effects was also deliberate.

👑 🗡 I'm a big BABYMETAL fan, so I got the 'POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR' CD based on their participation. BMTH has never really been my thing, but I quite liked the whole album. There's a bit of BABYMETAL in the preceding track, 'Itch For The Cure (When Will We Be Free?)'. The final track, 'One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death' features Amy Lee from Evanescence. I'm pretty neutral on swearing. I think of it as a context relative thing. I think it works well here, based on the meaning of the song, which Oli Sykes said included "doing the right thing, even if it's illegal". Definitely a "fight the system" kind of thing. As you noticed, there are also quite a few explicit references to the Matrix, which have been acknowledged. "This is your wake up call. We're going down the rabbit hole." I'm glad you found the official lyric video. Some of the other lyric videos have quite a few glaring errors for this song

Epic song, great reaction! In one of BABYMETAL'S first festivals outside of Japan (2014?) they met Oli Sykes of 'BMTH'. Noticing how shy the girls were (they spoke almost no English) he considered how uncomfortable the girls might be in such a male-dominated setting, so he made it a point to make them feel accepted. Very cool. There's a cute picture online of him showing the girls the BABYMETAL t-shirt he was wearing (& would later perform in), which of coures they loved. For years, I gave up listenening to BMTH, due to Ollie's alleged act, to a female audience member! If Babymetal can forgive them, so can I! Ollie has grown up and matured; and these 2 bands, have been friends for many years. This track works so well, especially when Su-metal, takes over the verse!

BMTH is a long time BM friends and they're a blast with this one, you will find the crowd reaction at their live shows recently at the end of 2021 live tour, it was dope. Like MoaMetal said i like the part SuMetal sings, she seems like a goddess descending from the sky.❤️ BabyMetal got some full english lyrics songs, and of course SuMetal keeps improving her english very good, some say with a clear southern accent, you got _"The One, From Dusk Till Dawn and Elevator Girl"_ if you want to check it out. Also this song got an intro called Itch For The Cure, a clearly tribute to a Linkin Park Hybrid Theory instrumental song. I like this Post Human Survival Horror album, i recommend you "Parasite Eve, Teardrops" as well as Ludens. The message on this song is interesting, you will see a clearly reference or tribute to Matrix movie at live shows with the green kanji characters falling down , I think that's the reason Olly said "rabbit hole" instead of "fox hole". I really really really like Su's english in this song! From what I've gathered, BMTH used to have a lot of growls and screams, but the singer Ollie kinda ruined his voice so they tuned it down a lot. In this song, he said in an interview that he went harder than what he planned for, since the contrast with SU voice was so good, that he just couldn't help it and he had to go as hard as he could!!

Great reaction, man. If you really enjoy the intersection between electronic music and metal, you *must* listen to Da Da Dance by Babymetal. The official video is fine for that one. It'll be an instant gym playlist addition, I promise you. A detail that's really easy to miss here: look at how many "r" and "l" sounds are in Su's lyrics. Since you have family in Japan, you're probably well aware of how difficult it can be for native Japanese speakers to get those right, especially in cases like "world" where they are right next to each other. Su has really been practicing her English in recent years, and I think they took the opportunity with this feature to let her flex and show off the results of her practice.

While hearing Su´s verse, i came to an idea what she means by destroying castles in the sky in connection with our digital lives nowadays. I know there is the movie called castle in the sky, but especially in this song, i see these floating castles as a metaphor for cloud-saves, were our experiences in our lives or our human existence itself getting uploaded into it, and probably be never touched/seen again. Like getting digitalised, without saving our emotional competence.

You will never catch Babymetal using that kind of language but collaborating on this song does say that they are adults now and not kids anymore. Similarly, they had a cameo (along many others) in Corey Taylor's "CMFT" song (he is another friend of theirs) where they don't use strong language but the rest of the song does.

You should check out Amaranthe they have a similar contrast between female cleaner vocals and screaming while also having a very digital synth sound in their metal. Nexus and Drop dead cynical are great songs by them.

This is how a real collaboration is done. I hate the collabs where one side like sings a line or two and that's it....this almost feels 60% BM and 40% BMTH.... and honestly, if you took out the swearing, this song wouldn't seem out of place in Babymetal's Metal Galaxy album. 🤘🦊🤘
