I’m so glad you watched this before the series! They are completely different universes, and a lot of people dislike the movie because it isn’t the same as the series. I’m glad you liked it so much!

Even though this is cool and has a bigger budget, the series is miles better with deeper lore, characters and story. I definetly recommend watching it on your own time and giving us a reaction to the highlights.

Fun fact: the movie may be different from the show, but it’s good on its own it was the first ninjago thing I saw and I enjoyed it

Lore dump: (you asked for this Seb). So garmadon has four arms cuz he was bitten by a super snake called the great devourer while training with his brother Wu. Then he was banished to the underworld where his plan was to get the 4 golden weapons to conquer ninjago but that failed so he then was possessed by the overlord and made a giant tank that can infect the the ppl of ninjago but Lloyd became the ultimate spinjitzu master and defeated the overlord which freed his father and restored him to his human self.

so the movie is canonically inaccurate from the show (the show came out in like 2011 [damn that’s crazy]). the reason that garmadon has 4 arms is because in the show, at a young age, garm was bit by a snake called “the great devourer.” so he basically turned into that but with 2 arms. in the show, there were the “weapons of spinjitzu.” garm’s motive was to obtain all 4 at the same time which was impossible for anyone unless you form yourself to do it. so garm went to a different realm to do it. that’s why he has 4 arms. other ppl add anything if i missed something

I recommend people to watch the series first before they watch the movie just so they can understand some of the details, like why does Garmadon look like that. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I really hope that this gets you in the groove and that you will eventually start reacting to the official TV show. To be honest it's seriously worth the watch and I think you would get so much out of the show with the amazing story telling, great villains, great emotional stories, and so much more.

I went and watched this movie in theaters, and I was the only one in that theater. It was a unique experience.

Lore for Garmadon: When Wu and Garm were playing in their backyard when they were kids (Garm was a regular kid just like Wu) they kicked the ball over the fence and Garm went to get it. When he was about to grab it, a random snake (which we later find out is basically the manifestation of evil) bit him. He venom infected him and over time he turned evil and grew 4 arms. Turning Garmadon into the new manifestation of evil

If you like this and you're interested in ninjago law, you should definitely watch the show. I remember each season, and each ark is really good. The animation is really good as well.

Ngl but Garmadon was so out of context in this movie🤣 And I actually liked that the movie was more on the "father-son" relationship between the 2 of them👍

while this movie is a really fun watch the show is still the better story and I highly recommend watching it. it handles the characters much better and explains the lore a lot more. honestly I love everything about this film accept how zane was handled, I really don't like how they handled the robot thing. your reaction was hella fun to watch though.

The Movie isn’t canon to the show. The show came first in 2011, then the movie came in 2017, then the show keeps going to this day.

The Series and the movie are COMPLETELY different, the only things that carry over between the two are: names, family members, most elemental powers except wus and lloyds

The TV Show and The Movie take place in different universes. The TV Shows first season came out 6 years before this movie. By the time this movie released, Season 7 had been out for a few months.

I love this movie so much! But I love it completely separately to the show as it’s a very different thing. In the show, at least at the beginning, Lloyd isn’t really one of the main characters or at least with our main characters or a ninja. He’s quite literally a kid. It was always Kai, Cole, Zane and Jay. With Nya obviously being there and building to one of the main characters as well. And Master Wu being there the whole time as well. Then slowly there are more ninja and Lloyd becomes Lloyd as we know him now. But Jay, Cole, Zane and Kai were always the four original ninjas! Also Jay and Nya are in love and it’s great!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH (and the show its based off of) also 5:03 as someone who knows the lore of the show... not entirely but good luck figuring that out

I hope you get to do the series as well, it will answer all your questions and is basically my entire childhood from the age of 9

I really dont know why some people hate this movie, is two diferent universes from the series and really wanted Lego to make a new series about the movie universe.

This movie takes place in a different continuity then the show. Each character is way different in the show. And the movie ignores the shows existince. So if you ever watch the show I'd recommend forgetting about the movie. The show is way better than this movie. Just a note for the future.
