Just picked up this bike May 12th. Had Street Triples, S1000 Rs etc. Rode 9 bikes that interseted me incl new Street and a load of diverse bikes. Then I rode this. Search over. What a bike. What a lot of different ways you can make it look. Well done yamaha team

Just got mine! 2023 XSR900.. Gosh, nothing at all retro on this one other than a round headlight. Form follows Function (Frame) everywhere. Blacked out w/Blue Gold: Gorgeous.. 6 Week delivery from order, no mark ups, minimal dealer prep charges. Seat is great, Tank Size Awesome, Engine Legendary. this Ride is an hour at a time max. I like the Ass Shelf just in case. Mirrors are Awesome, as are Suspension Adjustability, IMU, Modes, Display, Seamless Quick Shifter and Cruise Control. Love the Exhaust/Muffler underneath, no Ugly Hot Pipes or Fart Cannons! The Sound is great but secondary to me. Passenger Forget it, not on this one. She needs her own bike anyway. Hugely Happy with this purchase. This will be a Future Classic.. like the Original H2, Z1, CB750, RD350, and GT750 but without much resemblance at All.

Great review. The exhaust may have acoustic valve cause the the box like dimensions. Mixed with that induction niose, it's bloody addictive. I am getting off on the noise when revs are going up or in lower gear. He'll I stay in low gear just to get my hit. I anit changing it. I'm tempted to drill a hole in my helmet so I can hear better. As for the seat positioning, the lean is a secure feeling. This has pull so I have some weight to neutralises me going back. But comfortable that my neck isn't angled upwards like my blackbird. The headlights are so goergous. The seat I think is high density foam but very thin. I am getting accustomed to it. From behind you'd think it was a ducati. It's sexy as f. Anyway thanks for connecting to us. Hope your still loving this gem of a bike.

I like an upright riding position, but I also like being canted forward slightly. I would prefer an offset round dial as opposed to the oblong TFT on this bike. I'm sure I could get used to it, though. Not wild about the seat, but I don't dislike the back half of it as much as I did. Does the engine pull well from low revs in a high gear? Nick J

I'm also honey mooning. Do you ever notice the bike going temporarily into 2nd pulling for a split second then going into neutral? It also does the same thing when I go into first from second. Maybe once or twice a ride. It happens less if I make a conscious effort when shifting those gears but it weirds me out. My r1 did something similar but not as often.

I love the new XSR900s (and other new Yamaha's) blue colour schemes, they are modern interpretations of 80s/90s, Sonauto colours that many Yamahas in Europe and Oceania came in, My old 1st gen TZR250 came in "Sonauto" colours, so did my first 88 FZR1000. (Sonauto was the French Yamaha importer, and ran/backed many Yamaha race teams inc, Paris-Daker, TT-F1, World Endurance and Gran Prix, Christian & Dominique Sarron are famously associated with Sonauto Gauloises Yamahas) 😃

I used to own an 2018 xsr900, and I put the Hurricane handlebars on it. It was great! It was about mid way between stock and clip-ons. Now I'm just waiting to get a current year Xsr900, and try those handlebars on it.

@@KevinCantDrum Try the 2021's. The 2022's seat is rubbish and the new colours Yamaha offer are revolting. I just bought a 2021 XSR900 in Australia with the Yamaha racing retro white on red and front red mudguard scheme and it's absolutely incredible. Only value with the 2022 is the TFT and the retro brake master cylinder reservoir. The price has also gone sky high in just 2 years in Australia from AU$14,000.00 rideaway in 2020/2021 to AU$18,039.00 in 2022!!!!!!!! That's some REAL post COVID tax right there! OMG. No way.

@@theaustralianconundrum The differences between the 2021 and the 2022 are big and not only aestethic. 2022 has a longer rear swing arm which gives stability in corners and under acceleration. The chassis is lighter and stiffer. The engine has more power and torque. And also the design is much better in my view making it an elite bike in the supernaked realm. The electronic package is top notch and it comes with cruise control and quickshifter.
@theaustralianconundrum
@theaustralianconundrum Жыл бұрын
@@c.g.c2067 Stiffness is over rated, the weight reduction is 1% the torque & power in crease is 1%, the electronics is far too complex no one needs a cruise control on this type of bike and quickshifters are for racing. Enjoy.

I currenlty ride a 2019 z400, I find myself constantly at full throttle wishing there was some more top end acceleration on it. Also have put about 14k miles on the bike (Mostly corners). What would you say about this bike as a second bike. I see myself as decently mature to be able to keep in mode 3 and the rider aids up. or would this still be too much?

Hello, I have a question, I started out on a cb500x/similar to the cb500f, im looking for my second, how do you feel about the power difference between the two cb500 and xsr900, is it to much, should i look at something in between(like 700ish)? Not as big as you but close, i have long arms so I get ya on that, thank you

Give the seat a bit to break in. I’m 175 lbs and ride every couple days. It took mine about a month to soften to a point where I can take 2 hr rides no prob. Also recently upgraded the rear tire (stupid nail!) to the Michelin Road 6 which made a HUGE difference in cornering grip. Have fun with it!

That is a very valid point. This is the first brand new motorcycle I've ever owned so I've never broken in a seat myself before. Although admittedly I like the way the Corbin seat looks and I already have one on the way 😂

Hi, I pick my XSR up in 3 weeks and can not wait based on all the vids. You mention yourself at 6'5 and the 2016 XSR not fitting you right. Can you please tell me how this fits you now after owning it for awhile. I'm 6'2. Cheers 🙏

Hey! As a 6’4ft person myself , wondering, how’s your lower back feel on the xsr ?
@KevinCantDrum
@KevinCantDrum Жыл бұрын
So surprisingly enough I have two back injuries and had soreness on the first generation. XSR after about a 40 minute ride. I have ridden this for an hour and a half at a time with no lower back soreness. I think the tweaks to the rider triangle really did wonders.
