It took one of the largest cranes available in Canada to lift the massive tunnel boring machine (TBM) cutterhead in place. It's part of a major milestone for the construction of the new Second Narrows water supply tunnel. A boring machine is being assembled in preparation to dig the 1.1 kilometre tunnel beneath Burrard Inlet. The new tunnel will have greater capacity to serve a growing population.
