Thank you! I try to keep a point on the sticks and also help myself with paper stumps

@@YolandaBlazquezdoes your pastel rub off onto the paper stumps? I worry if I try using them, the oils will stick to the stumps and spread the colors around when I use it.

Truly amazing work! I've seen a lot of portraits in oil pastels which use what seem to me to be odd or unusual colors, and I know that's a style choice, but your skin and hair tones are spot on. Looks so much like an oil painting!

Thank you so much! The colors of these paints are quite bright, unless you blend them a lot to mute them down. But Sennelier still has a few more desaturated tones that I love

Oh my goodness, it’s amazingly beautiful - what a fantastic artist you are. I brought oil pastels, believing they are soft pastels (which they are) but apparently soft pastels are generally known as those without oil - for me very confusing. Now I still haven’t used either because of it - but your fantastic realistic artwork is showing me, try it out 😁. Thank you so much - what great inspiration. 🧚🏼‍♀️💕

I understand the confusion, they look so similar! I enjoy using both but at least with oil pastels you avoid all the dust. I hope you like them too 😊

To make fine details I have to put my face very close to the paper and tilted, effectively covering the camera with my head.
