He isn't (due to inactivity), but he was in 2015. Wlad was universally recognised in 2013 as the lineal champion after beating Povetkin.

@@Milkydrummer That was precisely the objection TBRB had when The Ring recognised Wlad as Lineal champion in 2009 after beating Chagaev. TBRB finally recognised Wlad as Lineal champion in 2013 after beating Povetkin. By 2013 Wlad was universally recognised as Lineal champion.

Here come the "Usyk's in Fury's head" comments. So much BS. Fury is loud, they say he's nervous. Fury is quiet, they say he's nervous. Can't win. Fury has come back from drugs and mental health issues to become world champion. People should be championing this journey as a Rocky moment. Both fighters are top, may the best man win.

Lineal is not the same as undisputed. In 2009, the fight between No. 1 Wlad and No. 3 Chagaev determined the new lineal champion according to majority of boxing experts, as No. 2 Vitaly won't fight the No. 1. So Wlad was the lineal champion for majority of experts since 2009, and for the doubters, his win over No. 2 Povetkin in 2013 cemented him as the new Lineal champion since Lewis for all experts and bodies. Hence Tyson was the legitimate Lineal champion in 2015, but has lost the title because of his long inactivity.

Im a big fury fan. But usyk is very impressive. He is a very humble champion and seems to be the more confident focused one. I think that could be a huge factor. He will have a hard time cracking fury, but i have a good feeling for usyk

Klimas speaks the truth when it comes to Lineal championship. It is a buzz word Fury picked up as his own but it is still a nonsense claim. Lewis retired with the belts so to say beat the man who beat the man etc. makes literally no sense.

Many including The Ring thought he was lineal after beating Chagaev in 2009, but TBRB didn't agree citing that he hadn't fought No. 2 Vitaly. In 2013, even TBRB recognised Wlad as lineal champ. So Tyson did win the legit Lineal championship in 2015, but lost it right after due to inactivity. The undisputed fight will ( unless it ends in a draw) crown the new Lineal champion.
