Thanks for the tip on the O ring ! My uv5r went all wacky on me and had to do numerous factory resets to get it working again! No one had ever mentioned this before so I thought I'd share ! The radio had always been inside so weather had nothing to do with it! This is an older model with the chrome face but I never thought it would do that? I have older Kenwoods thg-71a's that are much older probably than you are LOL ! No problem with them at all ! SO heads up for all the UV5R fans ! never dropped notta -fyi thanks Mark ( I have other Baofeng radios as well but have not worked them much)

I was looking in my toolbox the other day and just happened to find some O-rings. As luck would have it, one of them fit perfectly over the volume knob. It's amazing how much this helps.

For the price there's no complaints with boafengs , being able to upgrade and mod them just make them that much better

Bro thank you! I was trying to think of ways to fix this problem and that's definitely the simplest solution. I just took a small strip of gorilla tape for now and got the same effect.

Their biggest issue is...intermod and adjacent signal rejection. Theyre already slow in receiving repeater comeback hence having to run squelch so low which exasperates the problem. But yes i do run the 3d printed guards available.

Dont use the o ring with the great plains exo. Works GREAT with PTT guard tho. Hes totally right. On all my radios except the exo ones. Does anyone want to buy the multimount mic, PTT and Howards off me? I will list on Ebay for you. N i will check YT messages all day. Its all new n ill take a chunk off the total. Howards are black n already cut. I have 100% feedback, many sales.

Naw dude, that ads pressure to the cheap knob. Also, ditch that short antenna. You actually need to learn up on radios so you can learn your Baofeng better.
