what i think it means: it's a chant casting a spell on those who fall asleep, specifically on pure souls (more specifically children), in order to protect their bodies keeping the bad evil spirits away as their souls roam while they sleep.

One day, I was just listening to Song Of The Sea. Then I found this song. I keep on and keep on singing. Remember each word of this song. Sing it by heart. 2 days later, my beloved aunt died. I cried hard. and i sang this song for her that day. Now everytime i play this song, i cry while singing. i miss her.

feels like someone is leaving and all you can do is smile while crying ........ feels like the person singing is really sad but there is a sound of satisfaction in their voices like they are contented.... it just makes you feel safe.... singing with all her might singing while trying to stop the sadness from coming out..... wishing you a happy life wishing you to always be safe to always move forward.... I feel like this song is about a mother singing to her infant or baby, foreseeing the hardships in this child’s life that the baby will have to endure due to its pure and kind nature, that her heart breaks for the child, but at the same time she is immensely proud of this child’s extraordinary nature (kind, selfless), that she hopes this song finds its way into the is baby’s heart during hard and trying times, a song of a mother’s hope that her baby will find “kindness” and comfort in the midst of all this tragedies and pain.

How sweet..i did that too.. unfortunately my daughter even at 9 months used to look so sad and her lips used to pucker up like she's grieving and when she could speak at 1.2 months she said she felt so sad hearing the song. So i stopped playing it. Some other lifetimes memories i suppose. Such a beautiful haunting (in a good way) song

April 16, 2021 My cat was put down this afternoon. He was 8 months old and we had only had him for 6 months. He was diagnosed with leukemia and had an inoperable tumor pressing against his esophagus, meaning that he couldn't eat or drink. I loved him with every bit of my heart and would have given anything for him to be able to live for another month or even week. He was the sweetest cat I ever knew. This song is able to give me comfort while I grieve for him. I love you, Oliver, forever and always.

Today is saturday, 26. of January 2019. My dog was put to sleep this morning. He was with us only 8 months and he was only 10 months old. He was feeling a terriblle pain and there was no help because the vet said it was a brain disease. He wasn't just a dog, he was my little brother and I loved him like he was human. I woke up and my mom said he's gone. I didn't even had a chance to say goodbye. I love you forever my little one and this song will be your song from now on. I discovered Secret Garden years ago and their music sounds like it could be a soundtrack. Most of their work sounds Celtic like this. An Irish violinist and Norwegian pianist. The chord progressions are almost overwhelming. Not just in this but in most of their work. If you have not heard anything else by else, I encourage you to explore and yes, the lyrics combined with this astonishing music the chord progressions and the orchestration, does make me cry sometimes.

The lyrics are from Brendon Graham, an very well know and respected Irish Writer and Lyricist who also wrote "You Raise Me Up" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Graham I have extracted the majority of the lyrics and offered them to friends as my Thanksgiving with for them. It is also my wish for everyone that appreciates this song. I lost my wife last year I when listing to this song, somehow I believe she is singing these words to me from heaven. When I was a baby, my mother used to play this for me. When I was 12, I danced to this everyday so I learned to play it on the piano while singing it. when i was abt 9-11 i had really bad insomnia,as in like when i passed out from tiredness thats when i could sleep,and this was the only thing that could help,i would have it on repeat and my dad even bought me new earphones(we were very broke at the time so this was huge) so i could continue listening to this.

I have a friend going through times that hes not happy. Hes nor happy with himself or his life. I found tgis song an hour ago, and its all i wang to listen to. all i think about is wanting to see him and hold him to give him that much more of my support. We are both young, hes younger than me and hes one of my closest friends. Has been for years. This song is truly beautiful. Life is too, and it conveys so many emotions at once... props to the creator for a truly beautiful song.

When I was in 3rd grade we supposed to have a teacher she had brain cancer so we had another teacher to replace her then she survived it and we got to see her once then she died even though she survived cancer and we had to sing this song in honor of her and they gave her a special bench but the worst part is her husband and her two daughters were sitting behind me and I saw all of them crying I’m not emotional at all but that broke my heart to see.

I can remember a distinct memory of hearing this. But I couldn't remember when. Then today I listened to it and remembered a time when I was young. A very memorable dream took place.. that's where I heard it.. even before I heard it today, it was with me... beautiful either way

Listening to this song makes me feel like I've heard it.Closing my eyes, I imagine the sea outside the window of the Grand Palace located in the desert, and around the castle garden and then the city. My mother is the concubine of the ruler of this desert and sings this song to me with tears in her eyes,while I try to calm her down without understanding anything and at the same time watch the stars from the window. Hearing the song just gives me an image of someone passing early in his life and his wife sings this song at his funeral while remembering the memories they have made together... The death of a kind and gentle soul who have dedicated his life to helping everyone. The nation mourns, wailing to the heavens cursing,"Why!? Why must he go so soon!? He had so much to live for... Why must he be taken so soon... " The death of a husband, brother, and hero. Everytime this pops up in my head while listening to the song, I would just start crying.

This has me crying, though i suppose im not the only one. This touches me deeply for some reason... i think it might be because no one has ever said anything like "bless you with love *for the road that you go*" or "angles watch over you *each step of the way*". People in my life (family, etc.) Have always kind of assumed the life im to lead, but ive never wanted that life and always felt i was to do something else, but unsure what path i follow of which im kind of stressed and scared about but walk down either way... i guess i jusy needed some kind of reassurement or something...

What I imagined: As the mother halts to her stop, an empty beach. She layed her childs head in the sand and sang a melodic lullaby. "My child, I wish I can stay this long with you... But, Darling. I Can't." She paused. "I can't stand the Misfortune I'll bring to your delicate and innocent life." The mother look over the sea and was in deep thought. "My Dear, the sea is calling me" She look up to the sky as a tear fell from her eyes. She look back to her child. "I will sing this lullaby to you, until my Chapter ends. But for you, I will just want you to keep on going" She said as she took the sleeping child, she held her in her arms and drifted of to a dreamless sleep. (Edit: I just imagined a two sided story with my pov)

I had a soulmate dog for 9 1/2 years, she was a very beautiful herd dog with a loyal personality and she would crawl under the massage table while I was getting a massage and they would play this song anyway my Dutchess just died a tragic death and is now a very benign lump in my throat and have a river of emotions when I hear this song. 💔
