If your drift through the battery there wil be much more electricity going into your headphones for fuller sound. That technique is the one that I use and it works great!!

Since some people are still having issues, a bit of advice. The guy seems to have missed the part about cleaning the phone after drilling. In order to clean out the 3.5 mm socket of debris from the drill you need to soak the phone in soapy water for around 15 minutes so all the drill shavings are loosened. Then give the phone a shake once you’re done. Hope this helps someone :D

I tried this, works everytime. Putting it into the microwave also recharges your battery slightly, depending on how long you put it in. 45 seconds gave me like 10% extra battery charge. But I'm not a patient person so I put the iPhone in for like 8 minutes, just to make sure it was fully charged. I love how Apple made wireless charging compatible with the microwave. 10/10

no really the microwave reconnects the power wires by heat. some people get the drill hole in the wrong spot and disconnect the power wires. but after a minute, or so in the microwave you'll get a 120% charge and your phone and phone jack will work perfectly.

Everyone making comments about this being a joke don't get it. This is 100% real. It's not as easy as the video shows. If you drill to deep, you can in fact destroy the phone. After this hole drilling failed I tried plan B which was to use scissors to chop the white wires off the headphones so it will automatically turn them into wireless headphones but this failed as well! If you cut off the wires they will just play as wireless AirPods I thought but oops no sound is playing. Why I’m not getting sound lol.

Yeah! But here’s a tip. You shouldn’t drill at the bottom of the phone. You should throw it in the microwave for 1 minute, and then go directly in the middle of the phone and drill straight though.

I'm not one of those people who just thinks iPhones are for stupid people or any of that crap because I'm not that naive or bitter, but come on. If you want a headphone jack on a phone that bad, why've you paid all that money for an iPhone 7 which you KNOW doesn't have a headphone jack?!? Oh you must have done it wrong then. How hard did you bend your phone it has to be a slow and steady bend. Once you hear the cracking thats when you know its working the cracking allows the phone to bend better and sets the screen in place for that curved viewing. Try bending the phone back to its original state then just try the bend over again. You will get it this time.

Don't hear about the guys who said it doesn't work. I have experience at metalwork so i did it and it works pretty fine. You need to take a 3.5mm stainless steel drill bit and center it first so the drill does not slip off. That's what you learn in education. After that you have to start the drill and insert the drill at maximum speed with 1mm feed. After that you have to deburr hole, I recommend a commercial sinker. Once this is done, you have to remove the chips with compressed air and now you can connect headphones.
