I subscribed. I have an 11 year old son that loves playing baseball. He's big for his age and reminds me a lot of someone like Prince Fielder or Mo Vaughn. He isn't the fastest runner, but can hit with power. We practice the proper techniques to hitting in our backyard all the time and he hits the ball hard and high off a tee, but in a game he hits, but struggles hitting the ball hard and high, consistently. From my perspective it's due to lack of hip rotation. I'm not one of those parents that's overbearing, nor do I yell at him if he doesn't hit the ball to the fence every time. But, he's frustrated because he knows his potential, but can't seem to carry over his hitting from practice into a game. My question is, are there any other drills other than those you've put on KZfaq that he can practice for hip rotation and not hitting the top of the ball causing it to only go to an infielder? We've talked about the more you do it the more natural it will come. aka. muscle retention. Thank you!!

Love the vids. My son stays inside the ball when hitting off the tee daily. When steps in the batters box during a cage session or game it goes out the window. Reps are not seeming to work for the game, any tips appreciated.

Another way to Just practice swinging thinking palm up and palm down into the ball, and try to be loaded before he throws the ball and hold the loaded position and liberate that energy into , just trying to get the hands palm up or palm down as fast as possible and you'll feel connected with a little feeling what is going on, and comfortable swing happens. If it doesn't work, im sorry, but worth a try.
