Besides, how the heck is anyone (besides folk either familiar with Gaelic or can read Katakana) supposed to know that "Cait Sith" from FFVII is pronounced "cat shee"?

@@jaysonl We know to read the U in fury & furry differently because of the double consonant, and he even referred* to them as rabbits or bunnies prior to saying "ray-bite" if I'm not mistaken so it should have been easy for him to make the connection with the word rabbit. It's also not knocking someone to want them to pronounce something correctly. Better to assume someone can learn than to assume they're too stupid. *Notice in "referred" the first and second Es are pronounced differently and they too have single and double consonants respectively following (it happened again in "following"!) them. No rule is entirely consistent but it's a good place to start.
