I understand that I had a arthritis doctor who said all women are crazy need to be on Xanax and other strong pills I walked out went to my regular doctor who figure out all the things wrong with me . Used the right meds we went through a lot before we found what worked ..Xanax got flushed it was the bars . I just took one I was out

Sadly, some doctors do that. I had a similar experience a couple months ago. A doctor on the transplant team was a jerk... accused me of being an addict, and he was wrong. He threatened to have my blood drawn again, after a phlebotomist had just drawn me (& I'd already been poked about 20-30 times.) I was drawn again, and when he returned, I told him to look at my labs... Ironically, despite his several inaccurate assertions, it was, according to the other doctors on the team, the Tamiflu I'd been given at another hospital about 2 weeks prior that they attributed to the cause of my liver failure. I don't drink, never drank much at all all my life. I haven't had any alcohol for many years, not even socially. I know they have to check by blood tests, as they have to know what is going on. That 1 doctor didn't have to say what he did. He was a jerk, AND he could've run a drug screen on a prior ROC that was just drawn. If I ever wind up back there again, and I'd I ever see him again, I'm going to request he be barred from any of my care at that hospital (Cedars-Sinai). After he got the results, then he wanted to blame some vitamins I hadn't taken for over a month, and then only periodically. I counted the vitamins I'd taken before I got sick, and it wasn't even close to being them. The rest of the team said it was very likely the Tamiflu. Interesting, as several others have since agreed, yet if you look up Tamiflu, some sites say it "never" caused a problem... others say it has. A study with Tamiflu killed every rat in the study via liver failure. I made a report to the FDA, and I'll never take it again. It is dangerous, IMHO. I have health issues from this incident which may be long-term or perhaps even permanent, that severely affect my quality of life. I am still undergoing work-ups and will be for the next month or more. It affected my heart, lungs, and other organs. It's going to take a while to sort it all out. Tamiflu, IMHO, is poison.

I know someone who had a form of wolf Parkinson’s syndrome…he had an extra electrical loop in his heart that caused heart racing ( 400j.. 5he a would happen periodically and he’d have to get fibrillated.. he had an ablation whim stopped the electric signals from continuous loops. His cardiologist said he’s cured now and he now lives a normal life..

@@beatricesiaw8776 decreasing estrogen due to perimenopause; the headaches were a physical response to it. I currently take a Vyepti infusion every 3 months and Lyrica daily to suppress the headaches. It’s worked well for me so far.

I am borderline as diagnosed by a psychiatrist mainly because of my fear of abandonment. I adhere to medications that I must take and do what doctors tell me to do as long as I feel it is right for my body. For example, recently I was pressured into an IUD and I decided against it because the safety data sheet said “contraindicated (not safe) for those with liver tumours or liver disease. I have over 10 tumours in my liver, so I said it’s not safe and I don’t feel comfortable. They’re telling me to ignore that advice from the company themselves. Now they are refusing to do so a hysterectomy despite non stop bleeding from adenomyosis for which a hysterectomy is the only cure. I also have severe endometriosis. This is totally unfair.

And the ones that are trained need to stop using it as a bandaid diagnoses when they don't want to deal with us

All of the psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists have been taught to gaslight their patients. I've seen and known many psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists that are way more broken than I am. I at leas try to laugh through all of what I'm going through. They are first to keep their own feelings deep down inside while listening to somebody else's problems. Very sad. Our doctors are not allowed to connect with us anymore. In the American medical system, we are all nothing but sheep...

I have about 3 spinal issues. All congenital. Affected my walking when I was little. So I was seeing a PT guy after knee surgery, and he starts harassing me about my "posture". Oooooo, I was angry. I said, First of all, YOU are not treating my spine. Secondly, you're NOT a doctor to be giving your opinion on my posture. Shut it. Third, and most definitely last, I ride my bike 5 miles to play on your stupid little toys, UPHILL. I offered to show you my x-rays, and you refused. I think my rehab is done. Your services, no longer required. He tried to say he wasn't signing off on my contract. HIS boss, who I knew from church, was really nice. He told the guy to zip it. When did medical people get so controlling?!?

@@JaneJones-uh5le I had my driving license confiscated for 8 months because a doctor forgot to fill in a form, and then another one who never had met me filled it in a wrote i was su*cidal. I wasnt. It was on my record from a few years back and he wrote it as currently. I wasn’t allowed to get upset or angry or anything. Spent the whole time having to pretend to be fine about it to get it back. Confronted the dr about it and he just said he had to do it because its the law. When my record says low risk and the law actually states that only high risk people cant drive. But this was turned on me because i asked for help with maintaining good mental health because I was about to join a stressful job. I ended up losing that job because they took my licence. Couldn’t afford a solicitor so its my problem.

"She said some bad things & some good" another wrote received 7 page letter from Wife 😮 OMG what did that happen to do with Husband's health. Shows more important that note (for all) "KEEP AN 👁‍🗨 ON HER"...would like to know what that had to do with patient's good care/treat. Awful to think have to walk on egg shells & watch Ps & Qs. The snarky comments they write on your record - then if you try to get a "second opinion", the new doc will see all that first.

Everyone should take someone with them to appointments and if you feel you aren't being treated right you need to tell the doctor you would like to record the appointment so you remember what you are told... it's so funny how kind and attentive they are when you have a witness and a recording device. If they say no you can't then they are hiding something and you don't need that anyway.

Have a similar experience with the “ageism” diagnosis. I’m now facing permanent nerve damage in one leg with moderate-severe muscle atrophy, all because NO Dr would take my symptoms serious, or even consider referring to another Dr who could figure things out. Prescribe antidepressants, pain meds and gabapentin to combat the symptoms. I’ve walked around with nerve impingement since 2018. Steadily gotten worse. PT , injections, steroid packs etc. the list could go on and on with all I’ve done. And now I need back surgery and won’t even be able to make a full recovery. I’m so sickened by all of the gaslighting and now, after listening to this video, I think they probably have me labeled, or something. I had an active life. And now……… good grief, I feel like I’ve had my real life taken away, and I shouldn’t have happened

How the fuck did he get his license, dismissing that gross hematuria is NORMAL, without running tests to determine the cause. It could be anything from harmless and treatable, to very serious conditions. (Infections, stones, cancer, kidneys, bladder) - unless of course Nephrologists are more interested in dyalisis patients for $$$$......... Your doctors should have ordered urine and blood tests.

Endoscopy doesn't go to the gallbladder only the esophagus and stomach, you would have needed an ERCP for that... to bad you didn't get one because you would definitely been treated after that.

That is awesome that you pointed out to others that you do indeed have the right to fire a doctor or a nurse. I had a nurse tell my doctor that I wanted to decrease my pain medications, I called for meds because it hurt so bad, she told me the doctor had changed the order. The next morning I was a mess, the doctor said if I was hurting so badly why would I ask him to lower my dose. I told him I had asked for more not less because it hurt soooo bad. He raised me up higher than it had been so when that nurse came on shift she jumped down my throat telling me that I didn't need all that pain medications as I needed to get ready to be discharged (I was discharged 25 days and 2 operations later not then.) Anyway she wouldn't bring the meds when it was time, she let me go two or three hours after it was due and said she had so many patients she was doing her best. In the morning the doctor came back and I was a mess again. I told him what she did and how I got even less than the previous night. He was so mad because I was just chasing the pain. Turned out she only had 2 patients (ICU rules at that hospital) and she believed that pain was a state of mind and I was just using meds as a crutch and I probably was just a drug seeker. When she was assigned to me on day three I called the doctor before he left, told him she was there again he came to my room, reamed her infront of the charge nurse and told them to get me someone who would follow his orders. He told me I had a right to fire a nurse and have many times.

I was bleeding heavy for years and my OB Gyn did a uterine ablation. No more periods and I avoided a hysterectomy. You should research it and ask your doctor about it

@@tammy5926 unfortunately it isn’t going to work and isn’t an option for me. I have severe adenomyosis that shows up in scans. That procedure would make it worse and not fix the underlying problem. Same with IUD. I have severe endometriosis with bowel adhesions so I need to remove it all. :(

You can find a new doctor. I had to do that with 5 years of him gaslighting me and saying I was a hypochondriac when I only saw him when there was an issue.. that was 10 years of having an irregular menstrual cycle ( he said it was normal to bleed almost all month long), so I changed doctors. I said he was not very good at his job and called me a hypochondriac. My new doctor sent me in for tests, and it was some weird name where my cycle did not stop and caused more cycles through the month. I ended up having a hysterectomy. Over 10 years of feeling like I was in labor ( which I know the feeling due to having kids)

I fired my mom's cardiologist and had no problem doing it. The funny thing was he sent her a letter telling her what I did. He sent it to her home address when he knew she was in the nursing home. She laughed when I read it to her.

That would put me off him. I'ld go other Drs.

drs would do much better if they would practice medicine instead of playing miami vice.. they are getting way out of their lane in the most damaging ways. the amount drs bill for stuff they definitely did not do is shocking and across the board. they are fine with filling your records with fiction to cover their a$$, before listening to you about the body you have lived in for likely longer than they have been alive... a real dr tries to find the answer. if they cant, they ask for help. most drs today are playing defense in abject terror of the DEA. patients and healthcare are not their motivator. you know, perhaps if they ever stopped committing constant malpractice, they wouldnt have to worry about legal issues.

Blood thinners aren't the devil, there are times and surgeries that need them. Brain surgery can cause clots and those clots can cause strokes, pick your battles.

I think the government wants chronically I'll people to die because we are a financial burden. They are taking pain medication from people who need it and have never abused it or strayed from their pain contract. The patients are doing either suicide because they just can't take the pain, buying dangerous street drugs, or just becoming bedbound which hastens death. If those on disability died off they will have much more money to blow on stupid pet projects like researching the three pecker horned toad!

Advocate, insurance pays for second opinions, call them and have them help you set it up.

I had a guided cortisone shot in my ankle last summer and it was fine for a day or two then it was the worst pain in my life (and I have CRPS). I called the surgeon and was told it was a cortisone flare and take Tylenol that's the best they could do. It lasted a couple weeks. I had an ankle replacement 5 months later same ankle and it never hurts like that cortisone flare.

@@RSDNancy Thks for coming back. I had researched the cortisone flare myself, my ortho days it's unlikely I got that , no warmth or swelling.. He says he has no idea the cause. Yesterday AM I was up 20 min. doing things when I couldn't walk, limping badly, Painful. I sat down, put my leg up and one of the worst 30 hr. of my life. Sharp electric-like pains jabbing ,not letting up. My husband got me a Tramadol , 2 Tylenols. I was actually screaming w/ ea. jolt. Last yr. I had a meniscus tear ,bone contusion, & Baker's cyst in my other knee and had surgery. For some reason my ortho thinks if he can't physically feel anything w/his hands then nothing is wrong. Another ortho ordered the MRI on the other knee & did all the pre-op stuff, he no longer does surgery, so I can't go back to him. It's Mayo. So far it's been 2 1/2 mos. since injury and I am sick of it. One knee last yr. and a new knee this yr.!

A DR who no longer does surgeries ordered the MRI and did all the work- up on me & then sent me to the surgeon Thks for the tip, I've never heard of Advocate. 2 1/2 mos. into this and my ortho says he hasn't a clue as he can't feel anything wrong, no swelling, redness, etc. but terrific, pain still. All test were neg., but, it's something wrong.

@@jangriffin-fi1yx that was very kind of you, even though I am very disabled I volunteered what I could do through Covid but since the American Disability Act is in writing, there is no place for experienced, disabled nurses in the work place. Although there is a desperate need, what is ignored is as clear as water. I know so many disabled medical professionals that would love to work even a day a week, it all adds up. What a load it would take off of so many , also what an attitude adjustment it might bring to those whom despise seeing another nurse in a wheelchair. I can’t even begin to describe the errors in nursing judgement and how to handle a physician who blatantly berates pts and staff other than someone has to calmly take charge and unfortunately it happens too much. I could go in to some really really bad scenarios that happened and I actually am glad that I was there because I blew the whistle on a very large hospital ‘s staff from Director to trauma surgeon and several doctors that were up to no good. Nobody is perfect but behaving obscenely and threatening staff physically and sexually is something I will never tolerate. In a world where we need help it sickens me to find the scum but I am never afraid to call it and it is equally as important that any patient ( pt) should love themselves enough to always have an advocate that is assertive and respectful and I can’t emphasize that enough. Please stay with your loved ones in the hospital, do not let them be alone and don’t take a back seat if there is some miscommunication.

You're so right! Empathy has become a dirty word. I got fired from a rheumatology office because I would listen to the patient and talk with them while I did their xrays ans dexa scans. I would chart what was said to me so the doctor could address their concerns. When I was asked to report to the Dr I knew they were firing me because the other staff hated that patients asked if I could room them and help them. (The doctor was just as bad). I had enough of them anyway (I used their fax machine to send out resumes for a new job during work hours) because several of their patiens committed suicide and I told the people investigating that I thought that the way they treated patients in that office contributed to the high suicide rate. I still stand by the fact .

What a shame you were treated that way

I loved when it was all paper. When I switched doctors I hand carried records, when I read them and doctors said unkind things because they didn't figure out what was wrong with me I threw those pages out. I was made to take those are you crazy tests by several doctors. When someone finally figured out what is wrong with me I went back and told every one of those jerks that they were wrong and just couldn't get past their own superiority to find the real problem. It's easier to start with a new doctor when they don't have a preconceived opinion of you. Paper records hid all of that and gave me a clean mental slate before a visit.

My fiancee can't tolerate it either because of the severe leg pain.

Been intimidated and browbeaten by so many doctors I’ve said screw ‘em and have gone holistic and changed my diet some and have sought out chiropractors. I’ve found two and the first one saved my life (I was three millimeters from being internally decapitated due to being manhandled by an ex husband (Thank you Dr. Mike). Wish someone had bothered to notice my head was on at a 45-degree angle sooner. I wouldn’t have manifested some of the problems I had for as long as I did if somebody had noticed who had the expertise to do something about it.

Hello just wondering if you have OSA (Ostructive Sleep Disorder) this can cause I believe low/high blood pressure. Maybe if want could ask for Sleep Study if you've been told stop breathing in sleep or have lack quality of life. Maybe go to your local chemist if feel need in W.A. here you can arrange to take home small machine (CPAP) from chemist use for Sat week take machine back then they simply download inform you if have or not. Failing that a GP can just give Epsworth Sleepiness Scale Test in surgery then if need a Polysomnegraph Test stay overnight in Sleep Unit in Hosp. I think best to get to crux of the matter instead of just taking blood pressure tabs as mask cause more probs. Hope get sorted wishing you well.

If the Dr recommends you change your diet drastically to vegan and walk a half hour a day, would you do it? In the meantime more tests could be done, but going vegan can lower BP in days.

@@waitaminute2015 I already walk my dogs a half hour or more each day and swim 2000 yard workouts 3 times a week. As for the vegan diet you would have to have some irrefutable evidence that it works for me to even try it on a trial basis. When I was first diagnosed I had just finished 6 months of intense training for my first triathlon…

If you have diabetes and high blood pressure you need to have your kidneys checked. Kidney disease or damage causes high blood pressure. I'm not saying that is wrong with you I'm just saying it's something you would explore.

@@elizabethc3842 technically I have reversed my type 2 diabetes and am hoping with additional weight loss to do the same with the hypertension. Kidneys are fine I have at least annual checkups and blood tests for that and liver are fine.

I bet you had an AVM right? I have been there and I'm on blood thinners, blood was pouring out of me, my body just kept making me push like I was having a bowel movement. It was so hot and I could feel my life running off the table and onto the floor with my blood. The nurse who was taking care of me saved my life. The doctor was very young and inexperienced, he panicked, but the nurse grabbed him, said you are ordering ffp (oh, fresh frozen plasma) and you will have people squeezing it in... There were three nurses squeezing bags of ffp into the two veins in my groin and the port in my chest(I have no veins that will hold an iv they just blow so they have to go into arteries but my port in my chest is a true life saving device)... it saved my life but by the time the helicopter landed at the trauma center 100 miles by air I was a giant hive. Because I have autoimmune problems I have built an allergy to my own blood type and when I need blood they have to factor it. I hope they can always do that because every transfusion brings more antibodies. I loved the nurse that saved me, my husband and I brought him a special gift after I got out of hospital 38 days later.

In high school and college, I had a part-time job working for four doctors. The older partners were patient and approachable. The two younger doctors were pompous and had no patience with their patients or staff. They didn’t like eye contact and didn’t like being bothered.

I had the opposite problem. It was older doctors that did this. Meanwhile my cancer was spreading, my autoimmune disease was getting worse, etc. My health declined so much I went on a desperate doctor search. Found an amazing young doctor and the rest is history. Unfortunately my cancer is incurable and I am severely disabled now.

What do you mean by being judged for being ‘put together’? I know for a fact they judge you the worse you look. If you’re an older man in the hospital & haven’t shaved in days, they will def think less of you.

If you are disheveled they'll think you're a drug seeker or have other issues. Being put together I don't think works against you unless you are in high heels and a heavy handbag which you would avoid if you have pain. ?

You have to as don't be a guinea pig. You know what works & what doesn't have to keep speaking up. Get them to note in your records what you just told them ❤

Even the best docs were straight out of school once... the rising stars are easy to spot if you're fortunate enough to encounter one.

My physician made me aware of the fact that pain meds might not always be as effective since I am a redhead. I’ve been reading every thing I can about this and it seems to be true. It’s good to know.

If you have hypermobility or EDS, then you also can experience that anesthesia is wonky, especially the local ones. The connective tissue struggles seem to interfere with them. It's yet to be researched. I understand it's still anecdotal experience by doctors specialising on EDS patients?

I think there must be opiod resistance. I am having spinal pain and nothing is reaching it. I've had many surgeries and many pain relievers. I think my body just doesn't react the same to them. It's very frustrating.

​@@janetf9076yes, that is true it's the same for anesthesia, hopefully if you ever need it they know because redheads are the number one patients that have bad anesthesia experiences, sometimes they are even awake but paralyzed so makes use you voice your concerns and maybe bring some documentation with you incase they think k yourekidding.

Medicals cannot force you to take a drug.

Have you asked your cardiologist about Repatha? I had a runny nose right after the 1st injection, and flu-like symptoms for about a day, then I felt better. 2nd dose gave me pain the next day that was severe, then it got better. It's rough for me, but some people don't have an issue with PCSK9 inhibitors. I don't know if it's appropriate for you, but I would suggest talking to your doctor about them.

Correct you poor thing. Not fair have to be so careful if pain in legs from taking statins they can I have read in cases be responsible for ripping tendons from legs.

That is a common list of an allergic reaction to them. My nephew has those exact symptoms and the doctor told him you can actually get torn tendons and muscles if that happens. Don't take them, look for a different solution

Something that upsets me, an ER Dr. Prescribe 3 pills a day every for10 days, with that a Rx is sent for pain 4-6 hrs prn. The Rx for pain is only 5 low dose oh hydrocodone. Knowing the pain the patient is he, after picking up the meds he realizes there aren’t enough pain meds to match the amount of time or severity. When he calls back to the ER.
