That was a good fabric choice. While I was looking at your video I took a peak at the Minerva site. I like the fact that sewists show their makes using the fabric. I didn’t like some of the makes! I was worried about how yours would turn out! But it was a Perfect recreation of the look and a good choice of patterns and fabric for you. Beautiful!

I agree that this fabric can be hit or miss and I don't always like fabric that looks knitted so I'm glad this turned out as I imagined haha x

Hi Sally it’s a beautiful outfit you look lovely in it, i made the Southbank sweater in the ivory and it is my favourite make I also made a skirt in the cable knit a different colour I lined it and was very pleased with it and I can’t say I’ve noticed it stretching.x

Love it! I had a pink rib knit long skirt in the 90’s, wore it with tan suede knee high boots. I seem to remember the bum used to sag out during the day 😂 hope that doesn’t happen to yours. Super chic! Ps pound fabrics sell cable knit at a reasonable price too 😊

Wow, that looks stunning! I made something similar recently using the Style Arc Yoyo skirt and top patterns. The top is crew necked though. The skirt is lovely, it has a wide band of e!astic stitched to the top and turned over to make the waistband. I love the simplicity. It is OK to walk in but I did put a kick p!eat in the back of the second one I made as I walk alot.

Sally, you nailed it! This style suits your body type sooo well! The drape of this knit is perfect and allows the sweater to fall close to your body as it should. What is the composition of the knit please? Does it have viscose or nylon in it? Thanks, and congratulations on this beautiful me made! I looked up the fabric via your link, and it turns out I have this same cable knit from Minerva, just in a different color. I also have the Jarrah sweater pattern, so I might have to give it a go as well. 😏

Thank you so much! The composition seems to be polyester, viscose and lycra. I hope you enjoy making the Jarrah if you do, it seems to work well in that fabric x

Sally that outfit is lovely , You know the Heather dress you made was great on you could I make the skirt a bit fuller as I’ve got a bit of a tummy and i think it might be a bit too fitted . I used to be slim like you and always wished for a bit more of a figure .(be careful what you wish for ) 😂😂😂

Hi Sally, your sew the look come out great! I had plans to do something similar, ordered the fabric on line but is quite thin. I wondered about lining the skirt. I have stretch lining but not sure how it will work. Do u think I would line again or just use a slip?

I wouldn't line personally as I feel like the fabric would always be riding up as the skirt is fitted. Wearing a slip under seems to work fine :) x
