I just installed this for my 2012 328i and I absolutely love it, didn’t have any fitment issues but did have to do a bit of pushing to put all the screws in for the box. Other than that the process was smooth and easy Thanks for uploading this video!

@@rosstrittlerHey there I know it’s been a while but I thought I’d revisit this video and see if you could help me with something. I took my car to the shop for an oil change and my mechanic said in the recommended notes that I should take out the intake due to it “lacking filtration”. Any idea of what that means? I would like a second opinion because everything has been normal since I installed it. Thanks

All N26s have electronic wastegates, but so do many N20s. For the N20 they changed from pneumatic some time later in the 2012 production year, depending on model (3 series, X3, etc.). Easy way to tell if you have an N26 is look under the hood at the emissions sticker. N26 says SULEV while N20 says ULEV.

Just got this yesterday, took me sometime to install. Had a bit of a fitment issue, kept having to move the entire box around. Any recommendations? Like the small plastic poppers won’t stay in at all, they pop right out .

I know what you mean. Fitment of the lower box is a little off, we were able to force the clips in, but when we went to remove the intake to replace the serpentine belt they both got broken, so now we are not running any clips in the front. You almost don't need them once you attach the upper portion of the box, it stays pretty stable regardless.

did you get a check engine light sometime after, im looking into one now and all the reviews say they got check engine lights after installing

I didn't, but if you unplug things when the car is awake it can sometimes throw codes, but it's as simple as clearing it with a code reader. If you still are getting lean codes/etc maybe look into getting a stage 1 tune, but I can't imagine that just an aftermarket intake would be enough to throw off the AFR's.

Looking to buy this EXACT car . Do you know if it has Bluetooth audio ? If not does it have usb audio or only aux…. Also , does it have satellite radio or reverse camera ? Love the CAI will definitely do it myself if I go this route

You can use Bluetooth or it has an aux input.

Depends on which trim you get. The base trim only has Bluetooth for phone calls

You can get a Vegate OBD sensor and bimmercode phone app and code in BT audio if your trim doesnt come with it. You need to have a COMBOX tho (Grey box under trunk carpet cover near rear seats).

Yes, we're a little worried about it. Thankfully the loudest part of the rattle is the wastegate arm wiggling around at cold start.

If you're talking about power, I am not sure. I bet there was a slight increase in throttle response but I don't drive the car enough to really feel a difference.

Did you ever get a check engine light? because I installed one and a check engine light came on, on my BMW 328i 2014 and I wanted to see what you did and if its a normal thing or not

Clear the code with obd2 reader. It probably popped up because you disconnected the MAF sensor with the battery connected. Also, make sure MAF sensor is installed in the correct direction, and you don't have and leaks around the hose clamps.

The vacuum line 🙃you didn’t plug it into the intake

There was no vacuum line to plug into the new piping that is why it came with a cap. Look at pictures of other intakes for the n20/n26 most of them have this nipple and include a cap. Maybe some models use an additional vacuum line, that is why they include the nipple on the piping, but this '13 328i doesn't use it.
