If Dr Hawas wasnt in this i think you wouldve been allowed to dig deeper than he will allow. There are some of the hardest materials in the world at these sites yet have precision down to the size of a human hair. Many many archeologists are against Hawas for his way of working. A discovery will be made, he will insert himself into it and make it disappear until he deems it ok to make it public and then he takes the credit. At one time i admired him so much, then i stood back and watched over the years what he has done to the culture and the true history of egypt. Other than Hawas you did a fantastic job. Though i do wish you were allowed to view/show more than Hawas allowed

As a man who is turning 75yo in 21 days I'd like to say and tell what I observed in the 1970's, and 1975 March was the last time in Egypt. I had a strong feeling that the pyramids were far older by thousands of years opposed to todays explanations by egyptologist. I say this from observation that it was evident to me that at some period in time a great flood happened just by placement pop all the large and smaller stones on the desert floor. Only water would have floated those stones in such a fashion. I've always thought that during the time of The Kings, or Pharaohs that they encased the pyramids with limestone blocks, and that they stood for thousands of years before. It seems more plausible that this could be accomplished in a 20-30 year time frame. Also, by observation I felt The sphinx to be thousands of years old, and that it had a head of a lion that was carved in the likeness of a pharaoh just because of the newer appearance of the head. It fascinates me the around The World noses and faces of statues have been defaced. Perha[ps this outlook of mine would interest you as a young man near the age I was when first visiting Egypt in my early and mid twenties? I believe people should have more open mindedness about age. @@mr2wo The evidence has been misconstrued by archeologists wanting their name in history, the evidence was also moved around in the 1950s where they literally moved a whole funerary temple from one site to another in order to 'preserve' a 3000 year old building that survived thousands of years but they still decided to move it, the history you believe is fundamentally distorted by people and their own agendas.

One, if not my greatest experience, happened in 1993 when I was in The Great Pyramid by myself and in the dark. There were problems with the lighting and even the guards left the pyramid. Since this was my only opportunity to go inside the pyramid, I climbed up to the Kings Chamber with the lights going on and off. I stood in that chamber in pitch blackness and silence for what felt was about 10 minutes before the lights was restored. It was a magical experience that maybe the ancient gods or the great king permitted me to experience.

Was in The Great Pyramid by myself in late 2013 during the trial of Mohamed Morsi. There was no one on the streets of Cairo and no one in The Great Pyramid with me...magical indeed!!!

I like how you highlight otherwise unnoticed things like the docks at the Sphinx, and the camera work - for example some shots look like 3D and also I liked the transition from the ceiling light in the museum to the sun in the desert. What impressed me was the ancient depiction of the Sphinx with the pyramids in the background and that there used to be a statue in front of it! You also put some personal details and thoughts into it and not only cold scientific facts (like the Pharao's mustache). I mean the science is important but those people were like us, breathing and loving and joking, etc.... Very refreshing and nice to watch from start to finish. Thank you, Curtis! Love from Germany.

If it wasn’t for the Egyptian head of archeology we would probably have actual factual answers about what’s in Egypt. But instead we get BS geared towards the tourist agenda. Not to mention the horrible state of Egypt.

It would appear to me, as an outsider - that Zahi has a particular premise and story he wouldn’t deviate from even when presented with factual evidence. It’s like showing someone proof of something and they don’t want to see it - blatant ignorance. Zahi doesn’t like any hypothesis that states Egyptians weren’t responsible for the great pyramids. Personally, I want to find out what’s in the “great void” the scan pyramids project verified and found. They’re going to run even more precise scans soon; unfortunately they say will take up to two years. I do believe however that there could be some definitive evidence as to the origins etc of Khufu’s pyramid. I wish we didn’t have to damage it to find out. There are more questions than answers regarding the great pyramid, and as far as I’m concerned a little bit of graffiti on the wall in crappy red paint doesn’t prove any origin or who built it. Nope. That’s like finding an American flag inside and saying the Americans must’ve built it. Cmon. We need to do better than that. Sorry so long. ❤

Nice job Curtis, only thing that spoiled it for me and a few others was the Ex Egyptologist Halwas , he has been known for telling the world some lies like the chamber below the Sphinx, it has been documented that there has been a chamber found below the sphinx in between the front legs with its access underneath the wooden walkway. Keeps it great job going Curtis, look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Thanks, although Zahi has dedicated his life to this site. There is nothing under the sphinx. The idea of that is pure speculation and his testing results show there nothing but 3 meter deep Roman period holes

I know that name calling is childish and stupid, but there's only so much that a person can take sometimes. I just get so angry that so many people are so stupid, believing the lies of Hancock etc. We need every sane person to combat the insanity of the science deniers and egotists like Hancock, who can't be bothered to go to school, so just make stuff up, and steal from 50 year old books by other people. The explosion of gullible people who believe people like Hancock and Trump, the world's 2 worst liars, is so alarming. What's next? Twenty years ago this type of idiocy would have been inconceivable! So please do keep up the excellent work! Oh yeah, Hawass. It's just tragic how mistreated he was. The debacle he went through involved false accusations that were a part of a huge political plot between much larger forces, and the overthrow of a government by an armed coup d'etat. He became a pawn in that. But so many people jumped on it, because before that occurred, he had made a lot of enemies. He was an egotistical and arrogant tyrant at the Dept of Antiquities, and SO many people there wanted to get rid of him, so they were very glad to take part in the purge, even if it was built on lies. I'm glad that now that he has been taken down several notches you still treated him with respect. He has a fantastic amount of knowledge, and he did so much for Egypt! More than any one person ever has! For its image and econmy, and for Egyptology itself. I think that he still wants to contribute, and I'm glad that you are giving him a chance. One of the many reasons I hate Hancock so much is that he used the hype about Hawass to vilify him, and to boost his own image. Hancock is nothing but an opportunist who uses other people's publicity, twists it to suit his own purposes, and magnifies it as much as possible. He is VERY skilled at that, although not a bit skilled in any other way. I hope something happens to shut him up. The harm he did to a man who was already "injured" was just so shameful, and the harm he's done to humanity is just incalculable! Thanks so much for treating Hawass with respect, and showing people who might know that he is still active in archeology in the Cairo region, being in charge of both the Giza plateau and of Sakkara, 2 of the most massive and most critically important sites in all of Egypt (and of course the world!) That alone would be an impossible dream in the lives of 99.99% of archeologists world wide, so although it is a demotion from his previous lofty post, it's still an incredibly important position! Thank you so much for all you do. I've been watching you for years, but my account keeps getting cancelled, so I have to keep resubscribing, but I am a long time fan. ❤❤❤

The moment that Zahi Hawas was shown, cell phone ringing off the hook, I was let down big time. He has hampered so much progress in Egypt and has an ego bigger than the Great Pyramid. I must admit though the footage was incredible. What a spectacular and vast amount of work. Nice perk of letting Zahi control the story. Overall it was great but I definitely took most of it as a work of fiction.

@@AntonSmyth-od6rc I’m not sure I understand your question. I’ll add this as well. Hewass has an massive ego and bias in regard to his work in Egypt. He is a gatekeeper. Hawass has hindered so much research and access, physically and historically important data and information. He is a massive roadblock.

There is also an indication that the Sphinx goes back to a time when the area was very tropical and there was great rain fall. That would be post "BIG FREEZE". More than 12k BC.

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with Ancient Egypt, my grandmother's books were all I had and reading about the pharaohs, the gods and the egyptian culture was pure magic to me. I started watching your channel because of the Cleopatra debate and your documentaries have relived that magic; the way you narrate the historical events, the attention to detail, your shots, the experts you collaborate with are all absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!

I always find all of this fascinating and hope that one day, all the questions people have are answered with unequivocal knowledge. There are so many "experts" and story tellers with variations to explain all that we see and hope to see. Observing the found objects and putting all we know together, certainly unfolds the possibility that the who, what, where, when and why's are answered with unwavering truths. However there absolutely has to be so much more that we will never know. So with that said Curtis, you have done a wonderful job answering questions, which certainly satisfies the inquisitive mind.

Great documentary! But it is little bit one sided. I have visited Giza plateau 3 weeks ago and it was amazing. I'm not archeologist or historian, so cannot say, how old pyramids are or if they were really tombs etc., but I'm sure of one thing. The head of the Sphinx was recarved. IMHO originally, it was a head of lion or other animal or human, lately recarved. It is not proportional to the body. Every sphinx I saw, even little statutes have proportional head. This one doesn't. Also it is not so eroded as the rest. And also I think, that the Sphinx is older than pyramids. The erosion is really heavy. Other objects in the area are not so heavily eroded. It is obvious to everybody. Be that as it may, it was amazing!

You could do a video about Egyptian clothing. What really was elegance and what was carnival gone mad. I love Ancient Egypt, but sometimes I get scared by the storm of horns and wings, not to mention the load of amulets. I think you would do well to dive into ancient aesthetics

Doesn’t finding texts saying Khufu wanted to honor these monuments with whatever along with there being ZERO evidence of the great pyramid being a tomb, ZERO hieroglyphs when ALL other tombs are plastered… suggest something else? Like that the Egyptians found the pyramids and adopted them into their culture by honoring them and not desecrating them with hieroglyphs? That makes sense…. I don’t trust that hawas guy for a second

The “alien” hypothesizers are red herrings used to drown out VALID scientific observations that challenge the current THEORY regarding the age of certain structures. Hawass is treating HIS theory as absolute fact….that’s not how science works. If he believes his theory is sound, he should allow his theory to be challenged by other archaeologists and academics….not restrict their access to the site. Science is NEVER settled, it’s constantly evolving. Egyptology is a relatively young science….less than 200 years old. Hawass is setting Egyptology BACK by rigorously and stubbornly protecting HIS OWN theory which is a shame bc Egypts history is ALL of our history. He’s lost the plot bc of his EGO.

Guys.................... STOP trying to make people feel stupid. The crude carvings and Hieroglyphs along with clay pottery, alabaster figurines, and sandstone structures is ABSOLUTELY Egyptian without a doubt, but you are failing to point out the intricate works that you show here in GRANITE, DIORITE, QUARTZITE, and LIMESTONE, that are carved with machine- laser precision. Morterless, tightly fitting 50 ton blocks of stone, the galleries in the pyramids, the halls of the valley of the dead; IMPOSSIBLE to do by hand with the tools found in archeological records. Also please separate the granite Jars and Vases from the crude dynastic clay and alabaster ones. Stop mixing things together please. One day you will stop. The majority will know the truth.

I would so love there to be more to unearth to tell us about the past. I'm still open to more of tge unknown. I'm still very much hoping there is a lost technology still to be explained. The incredible stone vases & borehole etc just baffles me. It's an exciting journey to slowly discover the past. Love your documentaries. X

How did they transport 100+ ton slabs of rock on that tiny boat? Just curious as it doesn't seem possible to do that on such a small sized dingy of a boat.

They have duplicated it in recent years. There's a video on one effort. However in those days it wouldn't make sense to move them 1 at a time in small boats. It had to be done in big ones with at least 3 or 4 stones, if not 5 or 6.

The whole story is there. That is there legacy. The instructions of how it was all built is journald for each stone set. Egyption were very intelligent so much so they knew their language would be lost even as their pyramid lived on. So, they put it down for everyone in a universal language.
