How well can you negotiate? Good negotiators get better deals without leaving the other party feeling burned. Chris Voss knows exactly how to strike the balance of rapport, without sacrificing his negotiation strength. Keith Weinhold and Chris Voss go in-depth and even do a role-play where Chris tries to sell Keith his dilapidated roof, using the technique of mirroring.

You're right! If the audience learns something, it's time to swallow pride and publicly lose a mock negotiation. :o)

My favorite part of Chris Voss' teachings is they can be applied everywhere. I didn't think about it until I actually tested out his methods at the gas station, real estate deal or hardware store. Everywhere I went where there was a transaction. Got to love it!

Questuon: how does this work when you are working or negotiating with a realtor? Most sellers have a realtor. So how do you apply these tactics when you're not even speaking with the seller in person?

Had a telemarketer call me names when I used mirroring. I think I need to watch my tone. Interesting that I was calm but it seemed to frustrate and anger the rep who was asking me about any distressed loans I have. Was an interesting learning experience. What is your take. He asked if I was stupid or actually said I was retarded. Anyway his true self came out and I want to learn

Oh, that's an interesting finding. If one watches closely, they can see that Chris Voss "moves his mirror around" so that he does not sound repetitive. It's a skill to learn for sure! -Keith
