Thank you for the fantastic flip throughs. I've been very on the fence about order TGTB science, but I really like what I see in your videos.

I'm glad it was helpful. I was on the fence for a while as well. I think these are great for younger kids and what I would call a low stakes, high yield curriculum. If you don't like it, there was little money spent on a short curriculum. Happy homeschooling!

We also use TGTB as a secular family and it’s very easy to do. Typically it’s 2-3 sentences at the beginning and we simply skip. Their books are typically secular and therefore have no ref but are also clean, which is wonderful! We’ve done marine biology, birds, arthropods and paleontology.

I really loved the bird readers specifically or read alouds.

We are doing space now, and we will be following it with geology! It’s great to see how you are able to adapt the units to suit your needs because they are beautifully done. I bought several of their older studies on sale prior to the release of their updated versions, so that will keep us busy for the next few years.😄 We also use For the Love of Homeschooling’s nature units for science. I think those are my favorite so far.

I never looked into For the Love of Homeschooling. Wow, a 17-woman team. I recognise one as a KZfaq mom.

I appreciate this flipthrough! The guides certainly are colorful and engaging. Personally, I would still be uncomfortable about scientific inaccuracies about specific details, for example regarding the geological/space timeline. But if they stay more neutral, those are easy things to add in ourselves with other resources. Thanks!

I am so glad! You are most welcome. Yes, I find those details important and also relatively easy to catch and discuss since the units are homeschool-mom led.

Hi again! I am really considering this for science for my up and coming 5th grade daughter. Do you feel that anything was left out or added that would not be considering secular or even neutral other than references to God or bible?

Hi! I think because religion is so different for everyone, I would hate to give you a definitive answer and steer you wrong. A great way to find out if it is a good fit for you is if you downloaded their marine biology unit for free. TGTB gives you the whole text for that unit free. That way you can really see for yourself and then feel good about your decision. Also, if you do that, feel free to let me know what you think of it as well.
