Secularism is not and has not claimed to be a complete code of life. Secularism is a state policy that religious institutions will be separated from political institutions, there will be no discrimination on the basis of religion, and all religions will have freedom of religious practice.

As an indian muslim, i have really benefitted from all of your lectures. I am a doctor ny profession but had very little knowledge about politics, history, philosophy, economics. I have learnt a lot from Dr. Taimurs lecture. He is a 💎. I keep waiting for his daily videos to listen. One question to you, Can secularism ever be implemented in pakistan which could solve most of the fundamentalist problems which we seen today?

If you need money and want to enjoy this world. Secularism is the best option. But if you want to engineer your life according to judgment day then nothing is better than Islamic system. It depends on faith.

@@mohammadnematullah9140 bhai Aik muslman kabhi secularism me apny deen ko practice nahi karsakta. Kukeh muslman ka kam hy burai ko hath se rokna Leken secularism ye nahi karny deti. Jaise Israel Palestine ke sath jo kar rha hy secular country kuch nahi karty kukeh onki ideology me option hy keh wo kary na kary onki marzi. Leken Islamic system ye kehta hy apne apni jan aur mall ki parwah kiye beghair mazloom ki madad karni hy aur warna akhrat me apse sawal hona hy. Yeh sab iman par hota hy. Jiska iman Allah par ho wo kabhi secularism pasand nhi karta.

@@noshadar mazrt k sath: Islam demands full authority over the matters of state and an individual. It provides a solution it deems as true and necessary for the sustenance in both the Dunya and Akhirah. Being religious or living in a religious state doesn't imply failure in financial or worldly matters; it's truly indoctrination and decadence of our thought processes to think so. We can only console old men with this argument but what about the people who are actively suffering from their financial conditions and that of the state? If you start off the argument in favor of islamic system with "if you need money, then be secular" it's a fallacy and you can't convince anybody with this argument; neither muslims nor non muslims.

@@noshadari, personally, am in favor of both secularism and islamic system. But I don't think that current muslims are capable and progressive enough to find an ideal state in the name of Islam. We see that with Iran and Afghanistan, they remained prosperous till they were secular and became absolute states of tyranny when religion came in. Therefore, I'm generally secular.

Secularism has nothing to do with economics , that is liberalism , Secularism is just about separating state and religion and giving equality to all religions

Ok great! Now that we have established that. Next thing to talk about under the umbrella of secularism would be deciding which political/economic/social system do we need to implement here? And assuming no bias towards any of the different systems out there, we can assess each system and it's offerings objectively, based on research data and logic. By this process we can test which of the ideas, applications or offerings of each system are good according to data and logic, and after they are proved to be good by supporting data and logic, the last test of the principle of secularism already described in your video will be applied to them.There would be 2 possibilities. We might find one system with all of its ideas, applications and offerings to pass this process. Or we find out that all systems are imperfect and we need to take good things of all systems and leave the bad ones out, to make the best system for us, that is under the umbrella of secular principles. Here I would like to emphasize on a point that when we objectively test all systems under the umbrella of secularism, we must take shariah system as another system as well and test /assess it objectively. Then you may discard any of its offerings that go against the basic principles of secularism you mentioned in the video. I am not a pro-secularism, but i think this would be a fair and honest line of thinking to reach a better discussion outcome. I do understand that one can argue against the idea of taking secularism principles as an umbrella for this. But that would be another discussion.

@@Taimur_Laal A uniform code and law for all religions in a state, is a breach of their practices and cultural norms. Every religion has its different practices. For example, UCC in India decides the divorce and marriage procedure for all Indians, which is quiet dangerous and unethical.

Obviously, democracy is the victory of majority. Minority never accepts democracy. Taking the case of Sir Syed Ideology about Aloofnness from democracy untill educated. For him, minority of Muslims will never be able to come into power to demand their rights.

You dont have to follow one person , you have to be like that person , you should also promote these ideas in your area because internet Algorithm makes it limited to only those who are already interested in it , so promoting secularism and liberalism in society will be better
