During first chase your goal is to get first down as soon as possible, save your blink if possible to prevent rebound kite. Only save your trait if you know you can get the first down around a minute into the game. Cut off the rescuer from a distance, you do this successfully by watching what ciphers shake. If a cipher stops shaking that means a survivor left it (most likely coming for the rescue). From there you can meet them on their way to chair and hopefully get a double hit (if merc) or down if not.
During mid game your goal is to delay ciphers, harass decoding survivors off their ciphers and secure a second down. You don’t have to camp second chair, keep roaming around to either prevent ciphers from popping or to cut off the rescuer.
Late game you secure your second kill if you haven’t already, keep pressure on gates and keep survivors from decoding either gate.
A lot of the decisions made are all done by you (the hunter) and the progress of your game. Don’t panic too much and try to remember where players are. good luck in rank!
