Best most informative concise review out there thank you very helpful I have my ring doorbell installed and super happy just purchased a full set up thanks to your great reviews will add to my hardwired Foscam camera set up I have been very happy with and can record direct to my NVR which is one advantage of Foscam. By the time I am finished I will buy more Ring cameras and go for there 10 camera subscription for peace of mind as crime is out of control where I live in New Zealand unfortunately. Thanks for the reviews - a lot of good info there. i would be interested in seeing how you compare all these to Amcrest products as i have been using them with good result for years and currently have a few neighbors asking about the best cameras to use for home. Compatability with rtsp/ONVIF style DRV systems (like BlueIris) would be good to know as well as many offerings are not.

This is by far the best review I've ever seen in terms of overall information thank you so personally I have the blink mini camera and I like exactly what you said it's Wi-Fi operated it's plug in now I just have to put lights outside so that when it does record it could record and have no issues so this blink mini I have is 1080p recording with two-way communication could you recommend any camera that is similar or better I personally like to get a better one I will put it on my glass sliding door on the inside and then set it up the way you mentioned which is lights outside and it'll be on a shelf I would like to have one that does a tilt and I do like it when it gives me notifications also the non-subscription ones are great with the blink one it sends a notification to my phone saying hey there's detection but without the subscription it won't record it I have to manually go in and start viewing seeing what's going on My workaround is that I while doing a live view I press screen record so now I'm just recording that that video so that that has worked for me it's fine so anything like that would be great

I've been looking for a long time for an outdoor security camera with a jack for an external microphone. Any of the cameras I've seen haven't had sensitive enough audio and/or a good frequency response. Great video!

Eufy tends to be expensive and still require an internet connection to work even without subscription. Being able to do something like FTP to have online viewing without fees and local recording and the ability for the camera to record to local storage or NVR when there is no internet is a good feature to have.

Hey man, new subscriber here! I’m really glad I came across your channel for this information! I’m looking to upgrade 16+ cameras for my business, a local convenience store. Have previously used HIK and Lorex and have been decently satisfied with them. Been thinking about the Google Nest cameras due to the ease and convenience of the app, UI and even the audio functionality in every camera. Would you suggest changing to those Nest cameras or finding a new NVR system? If so, any newer recommendations on an NVR system? Price is a factor but will prioritize quality and convenience of the app over price for the safety of my employees and customers. Thanks for all the help and info so far!

Nice video!! I have been watching others from your channel as well. I have a quick question. I just moved to a house that has several power outdoor outlets around the property. Which system would you go? For now I am thinking about the Arlo Pro 4 with the outdoor charging cable so I will never need to charge it. I was planning the new ring pro but after seeing your videos… I am declining it. Could you share your opinion?

Love my wired cameras, but use the wireless for time stamps for motion events, plus to cover areas that is hard to get network cables to.

Hello, do you recommend the Lorex Fusion IP series cameras to the Reolink? I like that the reolink can pan and tilt. Also it can record audio & project it through speakers. The night vision range on the Lorex is nice & it has the industry-best 4k HD resolution.

This time I learned (I think) that you can have a NVR system and avoid the cost of having ethernet cable installed by just plugging the NVR itself and the camera into a mesh router (for each). You continue to be the best camera website, bar none. Thanks!

Awesome video. Do you have any tips on using your own NAS such as a Synology or Asustor to store video instead of an NVR that is included in a package? I ask because I already got a rackmount 8-bay Asustor NAS that I am quite fond of, and I'm looking now at POE switches to power the cameras that I will eventually buy.

If your house isn't fenced and people can walk to it easily then I'd recommend installing cameras for your backyard/side first and then of course the front if money allows. I've recently had an attempted burglary at my house and it took place in the back windows. Glad I had the window safety locks in place at the time.

I got eufy L20 it's been solid but sometimes the motion doesn't work... Not sure if it's the network or the camera. Not 100% reliable but most of the time. Also the battery life isn't as good as advertised, a swappable recharge battery would've been the best

I've had the Arlo Pro 4 XL since November 2022. An incident happened at my home where I needed the evidence from the camera, which shows the date and time actually stamped on the footage, which to my shock is non-existent on the Arlo system. I cannot understand why they have designed a system like this, how can it be used as evidence? Which camera system would you recommend that has the time stamp embedded in the footage? Furthermore, is it common for a so-called professional security camera system not to have this as standard? Thanks!

One thing to note too I think is how easy the Wifi cameras can be jammed. A friend of mine got burglarized recently and that's what the burglars did. The multiple Ring cameras around and inside the house didn't record nothing, except for a very short clip at the end when the burglars were walking away and the jamming stopped. And so the cameras were rendered totally useless. Apparently those jammers (deauthers?) are very cheap and small too and will likely be used more and more. With the Wifi cameras, I'd at least look at those with local sd card storage so even if the alerts are missed, there are at least recordings to see afterwards. And of course the PoE cameras can't be jammed and that's even better and another point to make in their favor.

What if you are in a rental home so you cant do major wiring . What would you recommend? If I do get a wireless one but dont have any plug ins close to the roof?

@@richhomiefamoux1726 if you can't run a PoE cable to the camera then wireless is the only option. In that case I would look for one that has SD storage in the camera like I was saying so that even if it's jammed and you don't get an alert, at least the footage will still be viewable afterwards.

@@PhilippeHarscoet gotcha. I seen with SimpliSafe that they have a power cord, do you think that will be okay? So in case the battery ever dies? Ive been hearing Simpli Safe has a lot of issues with battery. I don’t plan to have it on in the middle of the night but just in case of vacation or things like that. What brands would you recommend for wireless? Ring doesn’t have the best quality but if I have to go with them I can. SimpliSafe has good quality just battery issues, Eufy has good ratings as well and Arlo.

Hey this is awesome work you did here but I need help. We have a cabin in blue ridge GA. We can only have 1 camera outside at the front door since it is a Short term rental. I want to go wireless, with the best possible recordings pics. No subscription. Solor won't work so it has to be battery operated. What would you recommend.
