The Michigan Mudbowl, a University of Michigan tradition for nine decades, returned in 2021, with the charity event kicking off at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 before Michigan football hosted Notre Dame at noon.
The event - postponed due to COVID-19 in 2020 for only the second time since its inception - was once again hosted at the corner of Washtenaw and South University Ave., next to the historic SAE fraternity house.
2021's event raised a record $73,500 for the Charles Woodson Fund at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, with Sigma Alpha Epsilon alone raising $17,566 - the most of any fraternity.
Fiji defeated SAE 18-6 to claim bragging rights as the victors of the 87th edition of the event.
