Maori are not indigenous to NZ as they paddled there from all over the Pacific not they were the earliest settlers. and I understand only the Aborigines of Australia are an indigenous peoples who also did not develop like Incas etc until again Britains arrived with a few French thrown into the mix, although there was not the same feeling shown towards the existing peoples as was shown to the Maori tribes. Thank goodness Maori display great flair and innovation in modern times and become almost modern day Incas.
