How does he dry his shoes after every river or bog, how does he carry weeks worth of food on his bike (is that white tub on his fork powdered food?), how does he keep his batteries charged, and how does he keep going once his drivetrain is frozen solid with arctic mud and ice? I've always thought of myself as hardy and resourceful on long bike trips, but damn. Iohan's journey's are epic on a whole different scale.

sortedtales he doesnt dry his shoes from bog and rivers, if lucky he can dry them on the fire in the evening and have dry feet for an hour in the morning. he carries all the food on the bike and backpack. the white tub is just a container to hold more food. when the drivetrain is frozen solid with ice and mud he pees on it once the mud is gone and keeps going! cheers

Wow, that hit me like a ton of bricks. I was rooting for you to catch up and introduce new people maybe get a glimpse of their backstory. And BAM reality check, your pure optimism and persistence dull the actual difficulty of what you are accomplishing (we see you push your bike for a few seconds when in reality it has been hours and hours). Aside from being incredibly beautiful your documentary is very honest and at times brutally so.

Unreal! I would love to know the whole story to ending up on a bike wandering the planet. Messed up and truly inspiring. I have probably watched 20 of your videos and the one thing that can't be put on video even when you try is the soul searching existential moments, minutes and even days. We show us glimses but still.... And the animal was a wolverine ... which is more in the weasel family than the wolf one. Same family as badgers, skunks and mink.

Love your videos! And not the crap that the US and british film producers make. If they had made this, 90% of the film would be about how dangerous everything is. Like filming a guy in a tent crying about how scary the wolfs are. The wolverine you met was in another american alaska serie described as a deadly threat, and the guy living there and hunting these was very afrad. You were actually lucky to see one, as they tend to move away as soon as they hear humans. Although some of what you do, like carry the bike accross rivers, filled with all the gear could be fatale. I would probably go two trips to cross the rivers if the current is strong. Ive only done river crossing with backpack though. Also, start fishing! Best way of getting food without carrying it.
