Didn't say he was going to kill him, just leave him in a ditch after stealing from him and to be fair bender has most likely done both to fry. That being said he genuinely likes Fry but that doesn't preclude him from doing bad things to Fry

@@MixxedBerries He went from following protocol to the letter to robbing Leela immediately when confronted in the sewer. He only went into the head museum because it was free on Tuesdays so it didn't violate any robotic disincentive. "Hey, he stole my ring!" "Sorry."

I think the actual funniest implication here is that Bender sees the entire world as a green field with light green outlines of moving objects. That's how he sees everything that ever occurs in the show, all the time.

The programming was spot on, but the more of a rube the human is, the faster the bending unit can stop posing as a friend and rob the rube. However, since Fry is the most stupid being in the universe, the equation was sped up so fast, that it went from the usual few days of pose as friend and rob, to pose and rob in under a nanosecond. There were also Career Chips in the first episode, and Leela explains that without one you get fired out of a cannon and into the sun. A plot point that was dropped immediately.
