I actually remember this. Was working 12 hr shifts from 7pm to 7am. Last break was 4 or 5 in the morning. Long as the skies were clear, u could see them perfect, then watching them slowly separate from each other over the week.

@silverstalker Well, you probably couldn't get both objects in a single field of view with a telescope anyway, unless you had a ridiculously wide eyepiece. There's nothing particularly striking about either planet right now. It's their apparent proximity that makes the show. So you're seeing - naked eye - all that really counts.

Can you see any planets in the UK often?
@choppy249
@choppy249 4 жыл бұрын
Scomos . You can see Jupiter , Saturn and its rings , Venus , Mars and even Mercury with your naked eye quite regularly here in the UK , at different times , sometimes two of them at once . Look through a pair of binoculars and you get an even more impressive view of them . But you must rest the binoculars on something solid , like your cars roof otherwise it will be way too shaky to get a good view . Looking through the binoculars you can clearly see the perfect round disc shape of the planets . That’s how you know your looking at a planet because you can never see that detail in a star . They always appear simply as a point of flickering light because they are just so far away . The planets are much , much closer of course hence you can see that they are round spherical worlds.
