The background color scheme puts me in mind of Ristar. You usually have to wait until the end of a console's lifespan to see what it's really capable of doing.

This is a game from Gryzor. He also made neo xyx (Dreamcast) and Super Xyx (Steam). There was lots of hype about this in the last 12 months already.

Pretty game but the back ground is too much. Can't see the enemies' bullets. Game design.

Exactly! this reminds me of Jim Power type Graphics... the backgrounds should ALWAYS be half bright or dimmer muted colors because its further away giving a sence of depth.

Some LOVELY effects really lend this a feel of authenticity... Huge fan of that parallax scrolling, it still impresses me today!

After you hit "Start" I saw the statues and immediately thought "Tiddies!!" and then once the gameplay started I can see the clear effort that the developer is putting into this game, but I'm just no good at these kinds of shooter games and therefore don't find them very fun to play. It's part of the curse of being a Nintendo kid as most of the best ones came out on Sega and TurboGrafx, but not as many on NES/SNES. I wasn't any good at the ones I played as a kid and I'm not any better at them nowadays.

They've obviously put a lot of love into it, and a very skilled bunch of guys... but it reminds me so much of an Amiga game 🤮 It brings back that sad time when the Megadrive went from being an arcade console with amazing Japanese games like Truxton, Forgotten Worlds, MERCS, Hellfire, to being an Amiga console that was flooded with Euro/West games.

ZPF looks awesome! I do have a few thoughts though: The bullets look similar to the ones in Grind Stormer which had slow down issues, between the paralax, bullets, etc. I am wondering if there are going to be any issue with slow down. Also, the enemies look a little sparse at times I am hoping there is going to be enough action so a player can't hide in one section of the screen without having to react. Finally, I couldn't find an expected release date. Really I am just hoping this isn't another R-Type Final 2.

The Gold ship's main weapon looks a lot like the Claw in Thunder Force IV. Picture Claw in green and firing more closely together.

If it’s two people working on it hypothetically for 1 year, is 70k for a full year of work really a crazy salary to ask for? It’s probably going to mortgage/rent bills and food and clothes. The reality is, they are spending more than a year on it. Cartridges need to pe printed and have roms flashed on a chip, shipping, and I think it’s more than two people working on it. This is not free money, and Kickstarter also takes a cut from it. Considering who’s buying this, a large % of the buyers for this are through Kickstarter. So the following sales won’t be crazy high, and those have to have a large commission go to whatever store is selling them like steam, eshop etc. This is such an ugly attitude. People are making something people want, why can’t they profit from them. Is all form of art have to be free? It’s not an in app purchase filled software you can only obtain by renting it. So I don’t get the issue.

I watched to the end waiting to see some kind of unique game mechanic or mode, or just something different. It's literally just a shooter with decent art. $140k to develop a shooter for the...genesis.

it's a neat looking game, but tbh I'm not much of a fan of the color palette it looks like a very hardware pushing master system game as far as palettes go.
