Can you please do an update on your three sisters gardens? Or even better, garden tours next year!?

We have been meaning to have more videos on our three sisters gardens. It's on our to-do list. In the meantime, we do offer in person tours and classes at our farmstead. Here's a link for more information: docs.google.com/document/d/1oD6jTdfQSizHf_gbcmhm2oOaWzdiKET9ZyNRMAs4isE/edit?usp=sharing

Aha! Thank-you for more excellent content. Your channel has been an invaluable resource as I try to teach my daughter about traditional Haudenosaunee foodways and practices. Question for you: are those Seneca Cornstalk Beans at 0:39? I ask because I'm going to try pairing that variety with my Iroquois White Corn next summer and the seeds have a similar variegation to the variety shown in the video. Unfortunately, the Kentucky Wonders I planted with the corn this year threatened to start pulling down the stalks, so we trimmed them back to ensure we would grow seed corn for next year, as it was very dear to acquire. Thank-you for the time, effort and knowledge you put into your videos!

Finally catching up on comments. Apologies! These are an old Oneida cornbread bean variety. We call her Kanʌstóhale teyotyehst osahé·taʔ. I think she might also be called Tuscarora Soup Bean. The thing about beans is that so many can look like other beans but be completely different varieties.

Please know that if the answer to this question is no, I will not be offended, and I will respect your answer, and follow your directive. If I wanted to use a Native American variety for commercial production, could I give some back to the tribe that bred the variety, lets say 10%. I am a Christian, and we give 10% of our income to the Lord as a form of trust, and as a way to acknowledge that what we have does not belong to us, and that it is a gift from God. In the Bible, it was used to care for the Priest, orphans, widows, and poor. Could I give 10% back to the tribe or to a local soup kitchen to acknowledge that the seed belongs to the tribe?

By commercial, I mean for local sale, and production on only a few acres per variety.

We don't offer our seeds for commercial production. We mostly share our seeds with local community members and usually 30-50 seeds at a time. We also don't mail our seeds as a general rule.
